    2005 tige 22v

Quik ? for you guys. I'm dealing on a 05 22v and the guy who owns the boat tells me it has an upgraded walter v-drive. What's an upgraded walter v-drive? I thought this boat just came this way. Also, any other comments good or bad about this model. It has a mercruiser 350 to push it around the lake. Good or bad motor?

    Thanks, Gerd

I have the same setup in my '99. I've never had any issues with either. There were 2 drive options, perhaps lee or FIC could elaborate on that one.

It probably has the synchrotech gear reduction 1.5:1

I can't comment on the engine, but I have the '06 with the MP 340hp and love the boat.

I think Lucky is on the right track. I understand that if the transmission is blue, it is the synchrotech gear reduction. I think almost all of the V-drives come with that (at least that is what Boats of Nevada usually orders). I personally would consider it more of a standard feature than an upgrade. My 24V has that transmission.

          CP3 is your tranny blue?

              There is my source: http://tigeowners.com/forum/showthre...ghlight=velvet

If Tige MD said it, it is fact. Blue transmissions are gear reduced.

I am sure my tranny is Walter, at least that is what the manual says that came with the boat.

                2005 22v

Thanks for the info guys. I checked the color of the tranny from the pics that were sent and it is blue. I'm guessing that is a good thing. I prefer hole shot rather than top end.

                Thanks gerd

The blue gear box is not the trany, it is the V-Drive.
And has 30weight oil in it.

Velvet drive builds the transmission on the back of the motor ( silver)
If the v-drive is blue then it is a syncotech unit
