Is this a good vinyl cleaner?

I have always had good luck with any 3M product so I am considering this. My vinyl is slowly getting dirtier and I have 2 big bottles of the new fantastik that have supposedly been banned from marine vinyl because the antibacterial ingredient is harmful.

This stuff is on sale at Overton's for 50% off, so I was thinking of picking up some of it. Anyone use it?

This is my 1,000th post, so I now feel like a stud. I would like to thank my manager, my parents, Rival Industries (my single biggest post fest) and all of my fans...

I bought my 2100v used and the interrior was pretty darn dirty. I Used some 409 and the new Dr. Clean Magic eraser Got it off like a charm. I dont think anything has worked so well before. So i started using it inside and out because it gets any markings from the dock or guide posts off.

I have used it and it works very well. It seem that it works much better on older vinyl that is a bit drier. I used it with a vinyl brush and it lifted dirt up very well. It will leave a armor all like residue when you finish that will last about 3-4 days before it starts to go away. I would just take a clean towel and wipe the seats down if the boat was not going to sit for that many days before the next use.

Dries out the natural lubricant in the vinyl. It's alright for a spot remover every once in awhile and that's it.

Way to go you posting stud! You need to stop seeing so many patients and spend more time in front of the computer. I have not used that stuff but I have used Babe's and it worked well. Usually 3M's stuff is pretty good, I might pick up a bottle or two as well.

We use a product called 303 after we've cleaned it. It makes cleaning much easier the next time out.

The best thing I've found is good old Palmolive and water.

I use the DUCKY and a scrub brush. This stuff works wonders. I have also use the Magic Eraser. If you want to use the 303 I can get that stuff for you and the 3M stuff as well. Or even the Babes but I have had the best luck with Ducky and followed it up with Babes seat saver or UV303.

As far as marine vinyl goes, I think 409 was created by Satan. I understand it does dry the vinyl out.

The old fantastik was the bomb, then they went and made it new and improved with antibacterial stuff in it, and Nautique owners received a letter stating that it was no longer recommended.

The magic eraser is nothing more than some foam pads. You still need some sort of cleaner for it. I used them with fantastik and had terrific results also.

Coach - I usually hear nothing but negative about armour all, so do you think this stuff lies in that realm...and should I just buck up and buy some Babe's? I have never heard a negative comment about Babe's.

Anhaney - that is different than the ducky I might use on the fiberglass, right? I just remember the wipe down ducky being in an orange bottle.

I have used nothing but Babes. I am able to pull my boat out of the water now, dry it off, and it looks great. Just can't recommend anything other than that.....

Magic Eraser is very abrasive. I used it on the hull to remove a spot and it looked like I had sanded the area. I had to polish it back out.

I use the 3M vinyl cleaner/restorer, and it does the job. 303 doesn't seem to clean. I use it before long days in the sun for the added protection. I have 80% of my vinyl being recovered right now, and I will be using 3M and 303 on it. My vinyl is 10 years old, was neglected, and on all the horizontal surfaces, the 3M brought it back to life. The vinyl is clean soft and supple now. You would not know that it wasn't replaced.

I have no experience with hot sauce or seat saver. I can get 3M cheaper and local at Academy.

409/simple green/fantastik will dry your seats out. When I did use them (upon the initial cleaning I had to give everything) I followed them with a liberal amount of 3M vinyl products worked into the vinyl by hand. You can get the vinyl conditioner in a liquid application bottle to salvage dry old vinyl. It worked well.
