    How's this for a wake?

I just got my custom fat sacs installed. I only filled up the starboard locker for this wake. I think that I need more weight up front. I didn't get a chance to surf, since I was the only driver out today, but it looked like a pretty decent wake. Any suggestions?

Moki, I think you need to add a little port weight to sink it a little more along with you bow weight, but I'd get a second oppinion.

      Whats your taps at?
I have found that I get the best wake with taps at about 4 or 5

Looks good Moki. I need to get my 2nd custom surf sac for the starboard side.

I am just experimenting also. I thing some bow weight will lenghtn the wake a little. What was taps at.
          Let it be!!!

CP3 / Jim I just had TAPS at 1, I will try 4 or 5 next time. Jim, I am just hand filling my sacs right now with a Tsunami pump. I will probably tackle the ballast in the fall after I see yours and Tall's again

If that is at TAPS1, I would say that it looks good so far. Yes, there is adjustments needed but it looks like some fine tuning is in order.

I was told to get the biggest wake for surfing was to set the taps a 8. Is this wrong? I will try 4 or 5 today.

We tried this at one time and the platform destroyed the wake and washed it out. I would think it would be up to the amount of ballast or weight that is already in the boat and the wake you would like.

I have owned a Tige for over 5 years now and I still can remember which way is up on the TAPS. My hull is quite a bit different than yours, Moki, but I always keep the TAPS all the way up. Your hull has the spray pockets on it, which I think will actually give a better surf wake. Every time I lower the TAPS, the wave becomes more rampy (just like it does for the wakeboard wake) and I have a harder time surfing it. I like the steep wake for my size.

Your boy looks like he is afraid to get too close to the boat. The best pocket seems to always be right in front of him. A little more weight up front will lengthen the pocket.
                      Be excellent to one another.

We went out again today, and it seemed to work better with TAPS around 5, I haven't tried it all the way up, but I will give it a shot next week. The wind picked up really bad today and we were fighting some pretty nasty waves, we had 2 go over the bow and that was powering through them at a 45 degree angle. Tall, he was just getting up on those pics, most of the time he was riding right behind the boat and hit the swim deck a few times with the nose. The first pic was from Saturday and the rest is from from today. In the last pic, if the waves weren't coming over the bow, we were getting wet from the spray off of the waves.

All my taps does when surfing is change where the curl is in my wake

With no ballast and a few peeps, TAPS @ 1 is the best. Add some ballast (560# is all I have right now) and TAPS @ 2-4 is the best.

It does have some affect on size, but most one shape/length and curl like CP said.

I'm guessing that at that slow of a speed, the plate does not create lift, but adds to the displacement od the hull and makes a bigger wake

                              Nice lookin' wake, Moki!

I had some trouble keeping mine from falling over, but it was still pretty good. Only 500 lbs ballast and 3 average sized adults.
