Question regarding VE walk through transom cushion

Our dealer told us that we should not leave the walk through transom cushion in while driving the boat. In a lot of pictures I see on the web and other places a lot of people are cruisin' with the cushion in. My wife and I like the look of it better in place and like to remove it when needed to walk through. Anyone have any experience with leaving the cushion in place while driving?

I would think it would be ok on the lake just not the freeway.

Yep I still have that happen to my locker after the factory has tried to fix it twice.

My dealer told me that the door mount and engine wall upright need to be adjusted. My walk through hatch insnt flush with the transom, it sits up a tad.

I have just learned to deal with it since I dont want to take it in and be without my boat.

I have never taken it out but now that I think about it I should take it out when I'm towing. The last thing I need is that thing to fly out and hit some cars windshield.

            Edit:
I'm talking about the bow filler not the transom cushion.

Ok I deleted my previous post as I reread this and see you were talking about the transom cushion and not the bow cushion. My 24V does not have this so I have no input. I do remove my bow cushion when towing though.
              Let it be!!!

Mine is in the basement....last boat had a real walk through transom (with steps) so we are used to that.

I'm with Timmy, ours has been wrapped in plastic in the basement since we bought the boat.

The bow filler stays in 90% of the time. No worries towing, it's a snug fit.

Never even considered that my bow cushion could come up when towing. It fits like a glove.

I think that the walkthrough is a disadvantage to the newer boats, IMHO. The opening to the storage compartment is smaller because of it. I have a 5 man water weenie and a large towable, I frankly don't think I could easily stuff it through the opening on that side. Because of the batteries on the port side, I couldn't fit something that large on the port side either. Now I hear about the door lifting up, and I am just happy to stick with my 24V.

The door opens the same amount....I like the Ve style because people don't have to walk all over the cushion on the back and get it dirty.

I wouldn't trade the walk through transom for anything. It's nice to be able to have an area that people can walk on without stepping all over the cushions to get back into the boat from the platform. It also provides a nice place for people to board and unboard the boat from the dock without them stepping onto the cushion as well. It ads a nice option of versatility to the boat. Just my
