Another pathetic bimini question 07 20V

Ok you can see the tower and the bimini stowed in this picture - not sure if it is stowed correctly or not - the first time I opened the bimini I did not have boards in the rack. I opened it last night (what a friggin' mess that was - very embarassing with people skiing by watching us fumble) with boards and the poles go right in front of the knob to swivel out the rack. Can that be right. That seems ridiculous to me - especially when the freakin' neighbor - you know the one with the new Mastercraft - said that all he does is push a button and his rack swivels and pushes another and his boards come out.

Besides the fact that I apparently need an engineering degree to deploy this thing I'm not sure it is right - I hope not anyway it is in the way. Any Pictures out there?? Please?? Help???

Dont feel bad, I have yet to put a bimini on that isnt complicated. I had trouble with my bimini as well. Try taking a look at this thread and see if it helps.

Yeah saw that post - different tower and bimini. That one looks further away from the swivel pins.

Hmm, mine's pretty simple. The best one I've seen was that T-Top style bimini with the integrated surfboard racks on the Roswell tower. It wasn't complicated either.

I feel your pain. I just got through the same fumbling my self. Like Matt said check out that other thread where he and I discussed a lot of issues. I ended up getting good at it after a lot of opening and closing, but I have to surrender to some of the quirks that go along with it. Not going to be able to change it, just have to live with it.

I'm not at home so I can't show you a better picture - I've seen that other thread but I have a different tower or swivel rack - the post on my bimini is right in front of the screw or pin that you need to use to make the rack swivel - it it totally ridiculous. Unless of course I have it up wrong but how the hell else can it go??? I need someone with the same boat and swivel rack and bimini and year and everything else but the colors I guess. I honestly can't believe how they possibly could have done it to work this way - I hope I'm an idiot and set the damn bimini up wrong.

Soooo not cool having to pull the pin on one of the poles holding up the bimini to unscrew the pin to swivel the rack to then release the board and put it all back together again.

                  Bimini top

Can't tell by the pic but.....I have the same boat and tower but in the '06. My bimini IS NOT factory so this may be the difference but my bimini folds tight like yours but leans against the front bar (in front of the front bar). In other words, you pull mine forward and just the back 1/3 goes behind the front bar when fully extended. My front bimini support arms lock down on the tower down tube that is going forward just about eye level with the top of the windshield.

You will not be able to get the bimini in front of the front bar while the center posts are attached. Just drop the bimini, swing it forward, reattach and see if that makes sense.

My 07 Bimini is cake compared to the POS I had on my 05 22v. Still a 2 person job, but my buddy laughed today when he helped me. He was commenting on how easy it was....

What tower do you have? I have the Z-series and mine was installed upside down too.
