    What came before your Tige

Tequila's comment in the "Looks you get" thread sparked some interest in me.

What kind of boat did you have before you bought a Tige?
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

20' Maxum, 4.3L V6 I/O, cuddy cabin. Had a great ski wake (what I learned to slalom on) and the cuddy cabin was great when the kids were really little. I used to launch the boat by myself with my 1.5 year old (wife was very pregnant with our second).

After 10 years I was able to sell it for 1/2 what I paid for it new (it was in really good condition).

The dive shops 40 foot boat.... Don't know that make, model, or year of the boat but I didn't care. I was SCUBA diving.

'04 Rinker 192 Captiva, 305 ~220hp. Great boat, just not great for what I wanted to do with it! Kinda miss some features, cup holder locations, built in trash can, light weight when towing...okay, enough of that! The RZ2 is soooooo bad azz in comparison!

1998 Four Winns 220 Horizon with 280HP 5.7 DuoProp, great boat, until we started wakeboarding, and wanted to start surfing.

Before that, 1995 Four Winns 190 Horizon with 5.0.

                Now, Tigé 24Vé. I don't look back.

One thing I can't do in the Tige, is the exploring in lake mead we used to do. The Tige could never take the rough water I used to sometimes get stuck in at mead. It would get swamped.

But now since I am a couple miles from Lake Oroville marina, I don't go anywhere else.

We had an '87 SeaSwirl 180 Sierra. Bought it brand new with 305 Chevy and OMC drive, tandem axle trailer and extra "platform" on the starboard stern. Windshield wiper. Cream and Turd Brown. Had a tape deck and 4 speakers. In '97 my folks had me come over for a little talk. They had decided that the boat and I were now old enough for me to take it out without them. I was one happy guy.

This my first boat. grew up on the water though, my uncle always had boats. He had a Celebrity I/O 6 cylinder for years. Thing never had the power to get my fat a** out of the water. Then he got a Mastercraft 201 early 90's I think, great boat. Last year he bought a new X9. When I bought my Tige he came over and talked to me asked a lot of questions and then said he thought it was a good boat and almost bought one but couldn't give up Mastercarft. He's pretty much a Brand name whore!

                            Ha Ha, this is great.

We had a never ending parade of random, nameless boats around my house. We had jon boats, runabouts, Canoes, Bass Tracker plastic thingys, and even a homemade one or two. Tige has been a huge step up for me.

I am forever looking for an "UGLY A$$ BOAT" to add to my current collection. I want to paint it Hunter Orange Camo, put some crappy loudspeakers on it, and run it up and down the lake playing horrible music. Why? That's just the way I am. BTW, I'm quite serious.

I'm also looking for a real cool Garwood or Chris Craft Barrelback or something to restore, I just haven't found one in my price range yet....AKA cheap!
