One particular instance that sticks in my head was the weekend I ran the boat out of gas. It was the last day of our trip and our nieghbor for the weekend was helping us out trying to get it fired back back up for one last session. We didn't have a spare fuel filter so we just put it on the trailer and packed it up to head home a few hours early. He had commented a few times during the weekend on how nice the boat was and asked all the rest of the usuall questions people have. He figured this was the time to strike.

    "Hey, sell me your boat."
    "It's not for sale."
    "I'll give you 25k right now." I paid 26k 5 years before.
    "It's not for sale."
    "You sure?"
    "Possitive."
    "But it's not even running."
"Oh, it'll be running next next weekend."
"Yeah, well if you ever want to sell it..."
"I know where to find you."
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

The comment that we get the most is "Damn that thing is big" . I usually refer it as my floating living room. Poeple are amazed at the interior room, and comfort that the Tige's have.
Probably the funniest comments come from people that can't pronounce the name correctly. Iv'e heard Tig, Tiggie, Teegah, and then of course the guy who just says "How do you say that?"
      "Just Surf Damn it"

No, the best part would be if you HAD a Ski Nautique and thought you had a Tige.

I have to laugh when people come up and say "Dang, that sure is a nice 'Teejay"! I say thanks, but it's pronounced "Tye-guh". I get the quizzical look, and "Are you sure?"

              I say yep...I'm sure!

Yeah, most people who ride, know Tige. I get questions about pronunciation and lots of compliments.

We were at our dealer's dock a couple weeks ago, when CP3 rode with us, and a guy asked "how much did ya pay fer that" I said " go on inside, he'll tell how much"

People always want to know "how fast will it go" why is everyone infatuated with speed I guess because every new I/O that I ever drove was over proped and would run 60mph, but could not pull my sorry @$$ out of the water. I all just say "fast enough" course it will run 52mph

Yeah you get the "what motor is in there", to which I reply "full roller GMSB w/ vortec heads, performer RPM intake, MSD ignition, 4bbl Holley rejetted carb 1:1 drivetrain ratio, etc, etc"...and they say "ooooooo...I bet it gets it huh"....I say nope....."45MPH on a good day"...they kind of look puzzled at that one.

its funny how many people actually argue with you about how to say it.

i get this comment alot though. whenever i invite someone to come out boarding with me i always tell them if i take you out you have to take me out some time. they always respond "ohhh duh why would you want to go out on my boat when you have a boat like yours?ours is just a reinell, reinker, crownline etc" i respond. i dont care. i like to wakeboard and if your boat is going out when mine's not i want to go with you.
pluss it makes you comfortable with other boats so you can rock it with anyone you go with

I get TONS of questions about my speakers, and of course all the other questions you guys have already mentioned.

The favorite look, and I'm sad that I couldn't see it, but when I first had the boat it was in for some warranty work. Well it just so happened it was right before a holiday weekend. The boat wasn't going to be done so I told them I would just replace the exhaust gaskets myself, and just let me get the boat. Well I was at work, and couldn't get off, so I had my GF at the time and her friend go get it. They just had to trailer it back on the highway, so not a big deal, as they have both driven with trailers before. Well just envision this, two blond, well endowed girls, not weighing much more then 2 bills together driving a big lifted f250 PSD, towing a brand new 21IR down the highway. They said that everyone stopped, staired, speed up, slowed down, gawked the whole drive home. When they jumped out of the truck to get some diesel apparnelty about 5 people almost passed out. Man I wish I could have been there.

The other story I have is last year the lake levels were so low that the ramp I always used was closed so we had to use the "red Neck" ramp. It's a great ramp, but all the "Red Necks" hang out and go to the drive up beach. Well as I'm getting ready to launch(NOT IN THE LANE, but the Parking lot) this big ole boy comes up and starts talking to me. Typical questions, ya ya ya. Well I pull out the NVS's and he says, "What the *))&^% are those things?" I proceed to tell him and he says, "What? Speakers, Crank those (*&)(*&)(*&)^& up!" mind you I haven't even gotten them out of the truck yet. Well he then proceeds to start asking my girl and friends what exactly I do for a living. They tell them I'm an Engineer, and he says, "He slings dope?" they reply back, "No an engineer" and then he says, "Oh he is one of those smart )(*(^#$%^&)*(" Anyway thank god at this time I had one NVS up, and just told my driver to get in the line so we could get out of there.

Man, talk about some fun times at the lake

I admit that's a good one. but I like to tell them one of about 3 things,

1 tell them it doesn't have a motor and it uses squirlls. The really get confused on that one.

2 I tell them about the same that SP says, but I add in that it's on NOS, alchol and running 5 lbs boost. They really get confused on that one as well cuz they reply back, darn it sure is quiet, and I just point at the NVS's

3 I tell them it's jsut a big row boat, and we just row it everywhere. Again they have no clue and are completely dumbfounded!

Is it bad that we make fun of peoples ignorance/stupidity?
