Has anybody tried the Globe run-dry impellers?

It seems like it is always hit and miss with my fake-lake. Most of the time it works like a charm but occasionally, it won't suck up the water and I end up burning the impeller. I gotten to where I can replace it in 30-45 minutes, but it is still a pain. I read somewhere on another forum that they were having problems with the Globe dry-run impellers not pumping the water well at idle. Let me know if you have had good or bad experiences with them.

Mine works fine at idle, and with the fake a lake. You can feel the difference in the material as soon as you touch it.

Spharis, how long have you had yours in. Just replaced mine with a Mercury part this week, it is an every season ordeal.

I just bought a new pump housing of a website: I will also buy a globe impeller and use the other for a backup.
