Ok here is the deal I have the commercial sewing cover (Vacu Hold) towable cover. I just spent over 2.5 hours getting the vinyl looking great again. I am thinking about towing my boat back to the river (250 miles) with the cover on so the interior is not a complete mess when I get it there. I have towed with the cover on before up to 70 miles (it was raining that day). I has some light scuff marks below the rub rail in the middle of the hull which buffed out. Anyone see a reason why this would be a bad idea?

Not sure where you live but even when I tow mine with it off I never get the vinyl dirty. The one thing that gets dirty however is the tower speakers and racks from all of the bugs.

I have all white interior so the dirt shows up more. The Bow area gets a lot dust from freeway driving and I am also driving across the desert. That is good to know about towing with the cover. Cover is staying on!Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.

I towed mine with the cover off to the lake (50 miles) and had bug splats on the seats - never again! The factory sharkskin cover is kind of a pain to take on and off but I didn't like the bug splats on the seats.
One thing to note - it is nicer to tow with the cover off because you can see the cars behind you through the windshield...

COACH,
I TOW THE SAME WAY YOU DO AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH OUR BOAT GETTING DIRTY. BUGS ON THE TOWER AND RACKS THAT'S A DIFFERENT STORY. I HAD TO GET MY RACKS REPLACED BECAUSE THE BUGS CHIPPED OFF THE CHROME...MAYBE YOUR RZ2 WAS GETTING DIRTY BECAUSE YOU WERE TOWING WITH YOUR MONSTER TRUCK.Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Just putting mine on gets the top of all the vinyl it touches dirty. What's the best way to clean the cover? I tried soap and water on the driveway but apparently that didn't work too well."a what? i can['t] say/spell/pronounce that word..." - wannabewakeboarder
