Scootc,
I love the FAE you have. Mine is painted black, and the paint has started to come off on the inside. Was that an upgrade? Or do they all look that cool these days?Be excellent to one another.

When we had the group-buy a few months ago, I talked to Larry at FAE and asked if it could be polished instead of painted. He said he would (for an additional fee) if more people requested it, so I let everyone on the group-buy know. I think the majority of us ended up with a polished FAE. I guess it was a hassle for him since he's now stopped offering it.
I would think you could take your painted one off and have a local shop polish it for you. I guess it depends on the way it was prepped for painting.Nostalgia isn't what it used to be

Here's what we did on our Extreme trailer. The wheels Extreme offers are WAY too small in my opinion. We found these 4" wheels in the Grainger catalog. They're solid steel, good for 1500 lb. They sit about 1/2" below the cross member. Plates are 1/4" mild steel. Pretty simple job. Works great.Attached Files

If you have a campingworld out your way (or online sales) they have several types known as skid wheels:
