Hmm, I guess I don't get the point. Sounds like you had some buyer's remorse and the issues with the boat just furthered this along.

Anyway, How is demanding a New boat the answer? I mean the Engine is just a part. Just like the Head unit is just a part, swap them out, and all is good. I do agree that getting old engine parts on a new head might be questionable. At any rate, I don't think Tige can commit to building you a new boat in such a short time frame.

Anyway, enjoy your summer. I agree with the comment that this is a good experience for Tige and your dealer. Hopefully they can learn something from this. And I do agree that you get 10 to 1 negative to positive posts on the internet, but in real life the ratios are much different.

Okay, I agree it is time to start a positive thread. Who wants to start it. Lets find all the positive that we have had with our boats this year.

Sounds like you were being very impatient and just wanted a boat right now and didn't care which one. I dont think you can blame Tige on this. Boats are handmade and are prone to problems. B.O.A.T Break Out Another Thousand.
A real boater who really wants the boat will go the extra mile to see its fixed, and not just throw it in the trash for a new one. You go to a restaraunt, order a burger fries and a soda, you get a burger and a soda, so you ask for some fries, you dont toss the whole meal and demand a new one immediately.
What im trying to say is I think you could have been a little more patient and maybe you would have come out with a fully functional Tige.

Were sorry to see you leave.

Dom, as busy as you are, will your boat see the water this year????????????

I am sure the fish will hear the music. Even if he isn't on the water.

no not done yet. Gotta get up to discovery bay to pick the rest of it up, and go to the store to have the 12's box made.

From my understanding engines should be broken in the same way they will be run, whether he did this or not I dont know because I am too lazy to go back and read it. He did state that hoses were crimped wrong and not cut to the proper length.

                        I disagree with that statement!

I have had 2 brand new cycles, and now have my z06 and I have broken then in all nice and easy, varying the speeds (gears as well in the bikes) and nothing over half throttle for 600 miles, or 20 hours on the boat. Then I take it again varying the throttle for another 400 miles (10 hours). Not sure if this helps, but I know I have yet to have an engine problem. MY dad did that on my corolla I have now when he bought it new and it now has 191000 miles on it. SO.... Each to his own on this, but I know I'm a firm believer in breaking it in easy, and then drive the piss out of them if you want. I know I have raced the z on the streets and the bikes the same way, they were all perfect!

^^ I beleive in breaking in ive always had better engine life that way. But what what ever floats your boat, then keep doing it.

I agree with Ricky Bobby here. "Break in" is old school. An engine is either put together right, or it's not. Drive it normally. You dont see Nascar doing a 50 lap break-in period and then go racing.
