    I appreciate Andrew's response but

that is the first time someone has said give me more time, I liked the Tige' but can't sit here and wait with not a word, except from the lawyer saying will not meet the time. In fact, I faxed him back immediately said exactly that, if you have a proposal I would like to at least here we are working on it be patient.

By this action, all you have done is penalize the dealer for failure of a Marine Power engine in a boat built by Tige.

The dealer is an independent contractor contracted by Tige to fix the warranty issues on thier boats, so why didn't you give this dealer the opportunity to fix it.

Sorry for the harsh response, but after 18 yrs in the service business, you are the worst kind of customer to deal with. The dealer and Tige will be better off if you do take your business else where
Don't worry I can take it, my view is I bought a brand new boat and paid some $37,000.00 cash for it, barely 3 hours later the engine has blown a head, fuel guage bad, hose/intake wrong, starter messed up. That boat is not NOT what I paid $37,000.00 for, ALSO not what dealer paid for. TIGE' should step up. Under the law, I have a right to reject it. It's not breach of contract, its rejecting non conforming goods. I feel for the Dealer also, but he also shouldn't profit at my misery. He should be satisfying customer and taking up issue with Tige' I am not "demanding" anything, I said I would give you a new check when I got the boat I paid for (one running with blown engine etc.). That's not a "demand" for a new boat, its on offer to pay for what I bought -- a good boat. All they had to say was say here's your boat and I would have wire transferred the $ if they wanted. As of this moment they haven't said much of anything.

Let me say the Dealer in this case and his mechanics could not have been nicer, but offered no solution. If it was my business my customer would have walked out with new boat that day and I would have taken up issue with Tige'. What if the head or engine had blown on the test run they took on while I waited pay for the boat, that's what would have happened. Its just pure luck it did not. As to letting the try and fix it. I was there all Saturday afternoon why they "tried to fix it" and in the end they said the couldn't. We're going to have to call Tige'.

I know this sounds harsh, but If you're in the service business and treat your customers the way you state I should have been treated, then I wouldn't want to do business with you anyway. Why should you keep your customers money if you installed a part that was defective (even if you didn't manufacture the part). Your customer hired you to fix it, not install a "part", a defective part is between you and the manufacturer not you and the customer. Same thing here. If Tige' gave him a defective boat, that should be between him and Tige' not me and him or Tige'.

Here is my quote, no reference to how I treated my customers, simply stated that a customer with your attitude is very hard to deal with. Based on your past posts, the only solution that would please you would be a new boat RIGHT NOW.

        posted on Sun. 13th
Well, fortunately check had not cleared bank, so I stopped payment and advised them accordingly. They can give me a new boat
May I ask you a question??? if you left the boat on Sat., and most dealers are closed on Sun and Mon, your post on Sun. the 13th said you already stopped payment! and Tige did not get your fax until Monday! How in the world is this enough time for them to fix the boat? This is not even enough time to find the root cause of the failure and Come up with solution so it can be repaired correctly so it does not happen again.

I think you "cut your nose off to spite your face" The more you post, the more info you give us, and the more it sounds like the dealer and Tige are doing every thing they can to fix the boat and Make you happy. I believe one will be possible, and one will not.

Why should you keep your customers money if you installed a part that was defective (even if you didn't manufacture the part). Your customer hired you to fix it, not install a "part", a defective part is between you and the manufacturer not you and the customer. Same thing here. First, not sure what you know about the repair business, but when things break, we replace parts to fix them. We cant sit the boat on a couch and "council it" till it feels better, we remove the defective part and install a new one. 2nd, The dealer did not "install" the defective engine, it came in the boat that was built by Tige not your dealer. Did the dealer tell you "you have to fix it" Your dealer will fix the boat and Tige will reimburse them for the repair, all you have to do is be patient. So, it seems that " a defective part is between you and the manufacturer not you and the customer" is what is taking place here.

        Your words right?

I would give you a new check when I got the boat I paid for (one running with blown engine etc.). That's not a "demand" for a new boat, its on offer to pay for what I bought -- a good boat.
They can give me a new boat,
I too had some early problems with my new boat. Took 12 months to get everything fixed because I had a selling dealer that WAS useless. But I gave them (the dealer) reasonable opportunity it fix. When they did not, I did the correct thing and contacted Tige, got ahold of the area Rep and have since be introduced to 2 awesome dealers and have found Tige, Andrew, and Harvey more than willing to step up and make me more than happy.

If a Judge does not give you the verdict you want, do you go to the State Bar and get him thrown off the bench, no you go to the next level and file and appeal, right.

I wish you all the best. I truly hope you will give the dealer reasonable time to fix the boat or put you in a new one. I truly believe that you would love this boat in the long run. Once the engine is replaced, that boat will be as good as the next new one you are wanting.

No hard feelings on my part, and good luck.

I had problems with my boat and issues. Taylor Richards form Taylor's boats in SLC stepped up in a big way and took care of me when he found out what was going on between his service manager at the time and I. He since has made changes to his service department and they have all be very positive. His business will continue to grow from the changes. I am sure your dealer is trying to deal with the issues for you as well. Give them a chance. These kind of things take a while to get done. You have several companies evolved here and you are blaming one company when all they are doing is trying to help. I know you want your boat and it is frustrating but I assure you TIGE', and your dealer are working on it and they have to deal with Marine Power in this situation as well. Hang in there and thankfully when I had my problem Taylor Richards gave me some good advise quit posting on here and embarrassing your self and the dealer. I even went to the point of having the thread removed because he was absolutely right on that and he did take care of all my issues. Something to think about. You catch more bees with Honey than you can with Vinegar. This world is so messed up because people just have come to the point of lawyers and law suit when it can be handled out side of that realm. Although it takes both party's keeping a level head to do this. I could see if they were telling you that they are not going to take care of the problem because it was somthing you caused. That then changes the whole story. At least you did not have to pull your boat 800miles one way 1600 both ways like I did to have it taken care of. I did not mind doing this though because they took care of it for me. Good Luck this is the last you will hear from me on this thread.

Don't you have the 7 day thing in your state. We have 7 days to take a vehicle (boats included) back and only be out the depreciation on the milage.

                  Tim,

Not sure who your dealer is, but between Tige, Marine Power and the Dealer you should get this problem resolved.

I am with WWS in Colorado and we are working with bsnook with his 20i problems and we will have all issues resolved very soon. We are sorry any problems ever appear in our Tige's but unfortunately sometimes they do. We really want our customers to be satisfied and enjoy their purchase just like other Tige' Dealers.

We also want to tell our customers who are following this thread, that your boat was not purchased from us. There was some confusion earlier in the conversation and a couple of our Tige' Owners questioned us about it. No we are not your dealer, but I'm sure with the three companies working together they will work something out.

                    Final Update

Well, not going to be a Tige' owner, so this is the last thread. I am disappointed, but I cannot wait with basically silence from them as to proposed resolution. I do want to say I DO NOT fault the dealer for the problems, I realize dealer did not make the boat. Reading some of the other posts on here, seems other people have had some serious problems with their Tige' also. Fortunately for me, mine occurred so very quickly that my check had not cleared the bank and were serious enough I was justified in rejecting the boat and stopping payment. I truly believe if I had not stopped payment, I would be sitting for the summer (possibly 12 months by one post) months while Tige' "diagnosed" the problems. I would say, if Tige' or the dealership had said, here use this boat till we determine what we can do, it would have increased my confidence in them. I wanted a new boat, which they said couldn't do in time frame, but not once did anyone say we need more time to discuss, or this is what we are trying to do to resolve situation. I called and tried to open communication, but got no response. In any event, I offer these comments as constructive criticism, hopefully to benefit Tige' and the dealership. Although I bet the only thing that comes of it, is they will not let the next person have the boat until the check clears the bank. If that had happened I am certain my family's summer of wakeboarding and enjoying the "brand new boat", we paid for, would have been shot, while we waited. Sad but true.

In any event, I hope everyone else enjoys a trouble free summer of wakeboarding.

your being impatient, just wait and things will get resolved! there is no point in putting in an order for a boat and then giving up on them so quickly. our boat missed the ship over to the UK so we had to w8 an extra 3-4 weeks (still waiting) but we arent complaining on the website, we took the time to sort it out with the dealer and he lent us a boat til we get ours! try seeing them in person, talk it through with them and you wont be disappointed.

I'm thinking 4-6 weeks is a more appropriate timeline. You should request a demo or rental in the meantime maybe? Aren't you still bound by the contract even though you stopped payment (which I understand is probably for urgency reasons)? I can understand your bitterness, but you are coming off impatient and fairly spoiled it seems. I agree stopping payment was a good idea as it may help get things moving along, but completely not commiting to the sale and trying to renig on the deal is too far. Tige' has excellent product and Marine Power is an awesome powerplant. I am sure they are looking into every aspect of what they are allowed to do from a legal standpoint. Like I said earlier, I would be ok with a new powerplant with some sort of transparent warranty, or extended warranty; if that couldn't be delivered, then I would have to have a new boat. You commited to purchase and you need to follow through.

I have read where others have recieved the use of demos or other boats while theirs were repaired.

Sorry to see you go so soon and for the problems you had.

I think it is good to see the dealer doesn't know what to do. This has probably never happened before. They don't know the proper procedure because they have never anticipated this problem before. Now they will know. That doesn't help donwarwick. Because you are an attorney, they probably have to send everything through their legal department, which adds another layer, and usually a slow one at that.

Again, sorry it didn't work out. I hope you are more successful with your next boat.

Good luck, hope your next boat is all you want. You seem to me to expect items extremly fast, and well in todays world due to lawsuits, raising prices of labor and everything else, nothing can go fast.

                            Take care.

Another you should realize is that you will always read a lot more negative stories on the internet then you will positive. Most people don't create a post everytime their boat performs as expected but will certainly start a thread as soon as they hear a new rattle.

that's very true. I mean my boat was great for 110 hours last summer, and then this summer I have a few issues, but heck, nothing I can't fix. It's part of the whole boat thing.
