Well, guys, I'm in the middle of talks w/ the local dealer here about the possibility of throwing one of their diesels in a tige. It'll be on a new 22Ve or a 24Ve. It would be a factory deal, as Tige would ship them the boat minus some interior and motor, they install the diesel and ship it back to tige to finish. They are doing a ton of leg work for me, and Andy at H20 sports unlimited (AKA http://www.perfprotech.com/) has been awesome! They are the new dealer here and so far are impressing me! Guess they'll get back to me later this week on a price. I'll keep you all informed, since I know more than one of you has interest in this.

Well I'm not getting my hopes up, b/c something tells me the cost will be severly prohibitive. We checked w/ some of the mastercraft dealers today about how much the upgrade for a Diesel was, and the rough quotes ranged from $9K to $30K...but it's not even out yet, so no one knows. Some of those dealers could have been raising the figures b/c they weren't familiar w/ diesels and didn't really want to work on them. BUT, he's gonna work w/ me some on the cost, b/c this would be some very good promotion for them. Once again, I'll keep you all informed!Being a major OU fan and a staunch conservative.... Tanner, as a proud owner of a Duramax, I think the boat dealers are betting that we as boat owners don't know a thing about the cost of a diesel. The Duramax upgrade runs between $4500 - $6000 depending on invoice vs. msrp. It sounds like you have a good dealer though if he is willing to work with you. Please keep us updated, I am extremely interested in what happens. Good luck man.

Very impressive, 515 ft. lbs. of torque at 1700 rpm! The sweet thing is the torque never drops below 440 or so! GPH usage is very impresive as well! I could very well see where the cost upgrade would be a benefit just in fuel savings! Go for it!"Call me anything you want ... Just don't call me NOBODY!

Laserfish,
That's a good question. There's already one of these diesels in a Tige 20i in China and so far no complains from what I hear.
Lets just wait and see what develops.Being a major OU fan and a staunch conservative.... I am perpetually vexed w/ the conundrum of who to hate more. Obama or the Univ. of Saxet.

Well... you know.... apparently, us Americans are the self absorbed type. We could care less about the environment and don't care about gas mileage. I mean whats a couple hundred pounds of torgue to help get the ballast moving (scough).Being a major OU fan and a staunch conservative.... I am perpetually vexed w/ the conundrum of who to hate more.
