i still can't see how that simple piece of metal is taht expensive.I can cut my own pipe, and weld it, then put on the exhaust portion with ruber intercooler gaskets, as that's all they are, for a heck of a lot less then 3 bills. I don't care if it's stainless or not. I just can't see how he won't lower the price more.

Is it even mounted inside the exhaust? How is it attached to the boat? So there is a bracket stretched from one platform support to the other, then the vertical supports. Is there anything actually attached to the boat besides that? Is a exhaust gasket used to attach it to the exhaust?

Since they are stainless thorugh and through, then np....that's the reason for the cost.

Not only that but if it were not stainless, look for it to be full of holes after a few years.

Moot point, doesn't matter, but hopefully that answers the questions and the sarcasm
Just giving you a hard time young man. I am getting cranky in my old age. I agree that the wording in the post that started this was a little grey.

I realize this, but when he is saying no stainless it's lead me to believe that the whole thing is not stainless. I don't see how one is stainless and one isn't. But the question has been answered.

no you guys are all fine, and I also realize that we all have expensive toys. I Mean we all have to pay to play, and I'm not arguing that, but when I can buy a titaium exhaust for my z06 that is a HELL of a lot more expensive(the TI compared to stainless, and it's a 3.5 inch TI), and it's only a grand more, plus you get a HELL of a lot more tubing, welding, etc it just doesn't make sense. That's all.

Plus when he let the cat out of the bag about how he could go lower, it makes me think, if he is really cutting us a good deal. hence why I chimed in and said we should contact one of his dealers Or someone that has a dealer liscense, cough, cough, hint hint, anyone reading this thread

Bottom line guys, pay FAE for their complete SS system, polished or powder-coated, or don't.
But you can see from the pictures I posted, it is a quality system, custom made for your boat, that fits. The only pieces you cut are the SS tubes and the SS pieces of all-thread inside the tubes. The system comes with all the nuts, bolts, screws, and washers needed for a complete install.
Test drive one for yourself, but its worth the expense if you surf or just want a quieter boat. Congrats to you all that purchase an FAE system, you will appreciate it.....

                    Well said TigeDuner -

Time to hit the traffic to Havasu to finish for the second time the ballast system.

Damn this thing took off since I left work

My bad on the post. There IS NO POWDER COAT. Its all stainless. what I neglected to say was polished silvery shiny chrome-looking finish as opposed to the darth-vader helmet finish.

Ya'll can go build one out if you want and good luck, I hope it works well. I decided when I bought this boat I wouldn't worry about the $$ so much as the hassle. This is not to say someone else can't come up with a quality system, but I don't want tte hassle. I put all my elbow grease into my last boat.

So if anyone on that list has changed their mind let me know. If anyone else wants in, let me know. My guess is I'll get the deal going next week.

At the last group buy, all systems were stainless steel powder coated black and we asked to skip the powder coating and polish the stainless steel. Has this changed?

CP, cost will be depending on your boat.

TigeDuner, I dunno, I asked him today if they were powder coated and he said no, the black looks like Darth Vaders helmet.

We were not suppose to mention price, only in a PM. Can you edit it out?

jleger98, thanks for you work on this, I am in for the discount. I will still measure the thing. Is there a way to check with the boatpipe man to see if he has measurements for a 1998 pre 2002, even though it is not listed ?
