    swim platform rattle

So yesterday I started up my baby and heard a rattling sound. Sounded like it was coming from the hull. Upon further inspection we pin pointed the noise to the swim platform. Now all it is, is a couple of codder pins holding the platform on. There are no loose bolts or anything. So my question is how do I make it go away? It never did it before, just started.

I don't want to call the dealer again! I have been calling off the hook, about other small things. Just want to know if anyone else has this issue.

Hey Arron if you are reading this you should CALL ME! lol

tigeblue, call the dealership. Not the answer you wanted but they will help you out. Remember, you just bought a $40K+ boat from them and they want to make you happy. Believe me, I know this first hand from this weekend and I bought my boat over a year ago. I am more happy with Capital Water Sports today then yesterday. I was happy with them already but this time they went out of there way.

You had a little rubber pad inside the bracket and it could be gone now.

mine rattles when I don't have it tightened to the mounting brackets on the boat. It's a PITA to tighten those bolts down as I have to remove part of the floor over the gas tank, but I have to do mine soon too

FAE, it's like stealth for your boat...and it's good for you, too

Well... sorry for the late reply, I was out boarding all day yesterday.

So I ended up going to my local auto parts store and buying some silicone. Put some of that around the hooks to the platform and that took care of it. No more rattling. I don't think there was ever a rubber pad in there. I thought that maybe there was one to. I don't see how I lost 2 of them if there was. Anyhow the silicone worked great.

now to find a 3rd today

Not really, as the exhaust is still bubbling up under the swim platform when the boat is stationary.

So the only real benefit is the noise or the lack thereof?

The FAE is one heck of a muffler, but its purpose is to "scrub" the exhaust (mainly Carbon Monoxide) through the prop wash and then these gasses will not be inhaled by the riders. The FAE has the least effect in natural and idle because it does not convert the emissions but simply redirects it into the prop wash to surface further back behind the boat than without the device

yeah, just finally got time to read more about it. Sounds like a no-brainer to me. A little on the spendy side, but probably worth it, as I have kids who ride and we do a lot of surfing.
