Here you go Dude, check this thread.http://www.tigeowners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3932

Do you have any pictures of the snapped Metcrap? (assuming that's the tower that broke)

FWIW, I hear nothing but praise for the Monster.

A buddy of mine got the Big Air.

I helped him get it installed. It looks like a sensible alternative. I think that he told me it was $900. It beats the price of the monster, but does not look as good. I think that the BIg Air looked well designed, but I do think with all the bolts going through the tower, it seems like it will make a rattling noise very soon.

Is that the price you are talking?

I vote Monster. Looks good, rattle free, and isn't $2000+.

          Here's a thread.

And no new pics, but here's a shot of mine half covered.

Nickypoo, I guess being a huge member is better than being a swollen member

In the wakeboard video 'Free For All' There is a section showing Parks Bonifay doing a double backroll. The song playing is by a group called Swollen Members. It is one of my favorites.

What if it's huge from being swollen? No, just huge.

I have some swollen members in my collection.

As long as we're voting, Xplosion.

I know this has been talked about a lot but my question is which tower would be better and may match up w/ the holes that are already in the boat? Here is what mine looks like. I think I am going to weld mine for this year until I get the funds to replace it.

Metcrap!!! Get it out of your life now!!

I just got my Monster tower on and its great! I can't believe the difference. I'll try to get some pics of it this week and post them up. I tried to have my metcrap welded more than once (the last time with a steel rod for reinforcement) and it always broke the first time out.

Long time no hear Dale. I'm guessing you're staying pretty busy down at the shop with how the season is going.

I wouldn't worry too much about the holes. With the way the mounts are done at the back legs, its pretty swiss cheesed already. you can have the holes filled for cheap or you can do what I did and mount some neat cleats there. The 4" models cover the holes up perfectly. The fronts should work out fine. I think the Monsters line up pretty well as well the Titans. I know the Titans use a Hiem(sp?) Joint at the feet, so the have a very small foot print.

TRD, there is a thread on this site that discusses Monster specific installs to replace a Metcraft tower. I think you cover or reuse all but 4 of the rear holes. Those were then used for running speaker/lights or had plug inserts or cleats installed to cover them.

                      Here's the thread

                      And here's a quote

And Monster says that most customers who replace the Metcraft tower either uses the two 'screw' holes as an exit point for speaker or tower light wiring or just plugs them with something they find at your local Home Depot. This would eliminate gelcoat repairs all together.

Thanks NICKYPOO & spharis. I think I may have to get into this earlier than I wanted too. I was planning on getting my boat out next wkend if possible.

Fred, if you have a tower like mine, you may want to take your pads off and check the joints. I have been on the boat I got since it was new, the man who owned it and I had no idea that there were problem w/ the tower. I got online just like this and found out, went out and checked and 2 bolts were broke and the "H" section was wedged into the one side just being held by one of the screws. The scary part is that we have been pulling tubes, skiers and wake boarders like this for years and didn't even know it. I got 3 or the 4 bolts back in place but will need to drill one out and re-tap for now. Boys were we lucky. We always had 4 to 5 people onboard and someone was always in the back seat. I just can't see what Melcraft people are thinking about this issue. I am real surprised that someone hasn't sueded them.

Yes Nicky, it has been very busy at the shop. My dept. is the only area that was not increased by personal. I guess that is my fault, I am getting the work done so they figure I don't need someone else. My work load has gone up 3x from what it was. I did have some down time before but not now. It is still nice to have my own room most of the time. I made a deal that when everything is shipped in at the same time if they can have someone open boxes and set things in place for me then all I have to do is get'r done. This was all that was holding my tower.
