Well here is what my 06 22Ve post console looks like. The only diferance I can think of is that we have the SS package but I would think that all the 06's would look the same and atleast have something to hold the door open...a plain black support, spring, rod with a finger nut, something

I would say that you should try to find the lowest rated pressure lift support that you can find. This one is a bit to strong, and the door is a little warped on the left side on my list to replace support and door.

I can do close ups and measurments if anybody needs.

I have same as chpthril - I did as well have the SS package.

springs at home depot were more then ten bones, I"m just going with the ten dollar solution.

It's not how long you leave it open it is when you drive the boat and someone is changing the radio station while the boat is in motion. The door closes and hits the back of the hand or fingers..... Don't hurt much but it's a PITA....

I hear you but the only person that is allowed to touch it is the GF and since we listen to the same type of music, it is all good. The children don't like this idea but you know what??? The children will be out of the house one day and then they can rule their own world but not my world.

That's exactly why I didn't install one. I have one friend in particular who wouldn't be able to keep his hands off it. He seems to think the party should be centered around him, and I'm all about anonymity.
