After a couple head ringing crashes last year I finally broke down and bought a Pro Tec Ace Wake helment for boarding. I used it for the first time last Wednesday and like Tequila said in the USCGA life vest thread, I'll sacrafice a little style for safety. I had one monster crash while attempting a 360 and it didn't hurt as bad as it would have without the helmet. Does anyone else ride with one?

I just got a bern board helmet, that I can wear while snowboarding and wakeboarding. I'm going to try it this year. It hurts my head a bit while snowboarding all day, but it saved my head a few times this year so really worth it IMOOriginally posted by G-MONEYIt hurts me to say it but go OU but only for this weekend!!!!

I ride with one and they definatly help. I went down hard when I was getting comfortable with the back roll. I had it on and landed akwardly. I couldnt move for like 5 minutes. I just kinda floated in the water.
the reason I started wearing one is cuz I went down on a wake to wake bad. had a my 7th concussion. migranes for a weekEverything happens for a reason

I started wearing one last year after a couple of hard crashes. It's funny because as soon as people see you wearing a helmet while you're riding they immediately start expecting crazy tricks! We took off near a swim beach and I had just gotten behind the boat (with helmet on) and the people on the beach started cheering and yelling out tricks to do! Unfortunately I am not very good yet so I let them down...
There was an episode of Pull where they showed a guy wearing a helmet and then they showed why he wears one, apparently he crashed and his head hit a log or something and now he has steel plates in his head. Safety for style always wins out!

I have been tossing around the idea of buying one for the boat. I'm not near good enough to need one (I'm still working on wake to wake jumps ), but I would like for the people that ride with me that are good enough to have the option to wear one. You know...it is an easy excuse if there isn't one available...
