Yes, I know, but where there's smoke, there's fire.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Went out today, noticed that I can smell the exhaust fairly well. Even at 70 feet! I might give the FAS a try. Though I to like the roar of the engine. From what you guys have said its kinda a trade off.

Don't want to be breathin all that gas tho

Did somebody say there was some fire!?

I have the FAE. I am pleased with the noise reduction. The smell has been reduced some as well.

I agree 100% with what chpthrill said. A properly running boat produces carbon DIoxide, not carbon MONoxide. Big difference. If the engine is not getting enough oxygen, then it combines just one molecule of oxygen to each carbon, getting carbon monoxide.

www.skiboatdeaths.com talks about teak surfing. They fail to mention that all of the dead people were found at the bottom of the lake...because they didn't have a PFD on. What would have been a very bad experience (breathe some carbon monoxide, pass out, get a headache, go to the hospital, lose a few brain cells), instead became a tragedy because of people doing watersports without a PFD. You can obviously die from carbon monoxide poisoning behind a boat, but 30 minutes on the bottom of the lake is not going to help.
            Be excellent to one another.

CO poisoning is more from teak surfing, (body surfing hanging onto the platform.)
I'd get an FAE even if you're not concerned...because you should be.

Yeah went out again today. That smell is bad. You think when you spend about 50K it would come with one.

                Oh well

                more money to spend

Get used to it...I don't care if you spend $500K, you're going to spend some $$ getting your boat just right.

I bet the boat manufacturers don't put an FAE type of device on there for legal reasons, it would be admitting there was an issue. A few months after I bought my boat, I got a letter from Tige about how they disapproved of teak surfing. I'm sure someone tried to sue a boat manufacturer for doing stupid stuff with a boat... what a bunch of
