    Wake Surfing

Is it true what they say about getting carbon monoxide poisoning? Looks like a blast of a time! Though everyone always says its not good to be that close to the boat.

Is this true? If so how long is to long to be exposed?

Get Fresh Air Exhaust if you are concerned.

CO poisoning is more from teak surfing, (body surfing hanging onto the platform.)

Fresh Air Exhaust is a must. Boat is way more quiet and do not smell exhaust anymore. Many posts on here discussing the results of the tests which were done but overall everyone on here who have installed one have been pleased. Just search Fresh Air Exhaust

Here is the link to the full thread. I was (am) one of the biggest skeptics about the Co reduction results. I'm not trying to say that the FAE does not work as stated, but it's how the results were determined. The test boat was a carbureted 350 nautique and the before and after FAE results showed a significant reduction in Co emissions. Well, my boat, as well as many others, has an ECM controlled, multi-port fuel injected engine. These engines, I suspect, run cleaner than the carbureted engine w/ FAE.

At the end of the day, the noise reduction itself was worth the investment even though I don't know how much of a Co reduction is taking place with an engine that produces very little Co to begin with.

You need to take your boat out for a few weeks, and then get it. Otherwise, You might not truly appreciate it

With out the fresh air kit are most poeple finding the exhaust being so loud that it drowns out the tower speakers and making it difficult to hear them over the exhaust while riding behind the boat?

I will be able to answer my own questions on May 23rd when we take delivery of our boat but I can't wait until then. Can't wait to get the boat

No the enige noise will not cancel out tower speakers. The Tige's are very quite boats to begin with. The FAE pushes the exhaust underwater and it will quite the engine from about 85dB's to 70 dB's which is very noticable. Just make sure you are wearing a PFD that is coast guard approved.

That's because dB's increase exponentially, 85 to 70 is more than 10x quieter.

As much as I like the sound of a finely tuned V8 (check the avatar), the FAE is the hottest thing since sunburn. It is so much nicer to ride in the boat, that you have to try it to believe it. If and when I do buy a new boat, it will be the first accesory put on.

I surfed my Tige for years with out the FAE and never died from CO . The people in the boat got it way worse than the rider due to the station wagon effect. FAE = no station wagon effect.

You know, I haven't bothered to look at the study in forever, but all you really need, to do the reseach yourself, is a functioning nose.
