Anyone know of an aftermarket throttle knob w/ a "trim adjustment", so that I can control the taps? I'd really love to put something carbon fiber or brushed aluminum. My throttle knob has faded out pretty bad, and I'm thinking it's time to dress it up (If possible).

I wonder if this would work....
This wheel, and putting the up and down leads for the taps, on the buttons of this wheel. Then putting a standard throttle knob on.

Ya that's a good point! Especially when you're surfing at a constant low mph and looking for quick changes in the shape of the wake. having them on the steering wheel would be pretty easy since your hands are always on there as opposed to the throttle. Would that work?If you ain't falling.. you ain't trying hard enough..

That would be nice like a rocker swich located on your right hand for the taps and then a Speed set on your left.
Actually, Supra has like a toggle switch for the wakeplate mounted like the blinker on a car.Common Sense is not so Common

You can put the Taps on your steering wheel. Most custom boat makers put the trim tab adjuster or jetovator on the wheel (that is where mine was on my jet). you have to extend the wire from the throttle and drill out a port on the steering wheel assembly . http://www.rexmar.com/page41.html
The top pick is with the steering hub with the drilled or pre ported hub and the bottom is the loop wire if you don't want to drill (the top is not that hard to do). Then you can get any throttle handle you want and your taps is on your wheelSuccess is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.

So it appears I have a viable idea huh?
I'd be curious to hear what Spharis has to say. He's the electrical guru around here.Last edited by Tanner; 04-29-2007, 02:48 AM.Being a major OU fan and a staunch conservative.... I am perpetually vexed w/ the conundrum of who to hate more. Obama or the Univ. of Saxet.

OK I'll add my thoughts.....guru is probably pushing it though......I rewired a Molex 4 times before I got it right doing some maintenance on a simulator at work the other night.
You need to pick a style of throttle first. That will limit or expand your options.......http://www.wakeboatworld.com
