Well I did find out how quickly an inboard can overheat compared to an I/O. Lots of rain put lots of small debris in the lake. So my son and I spent a wonderfully cold (for Tx in April) Saturday on the dock getting the clogs out of the trans cooler and installing a strainer. It's amazing how big the storage compartments are. Allowed me to climb all the way in to cut the hose and install the strainer. Good news is everything is now fine and the boat runs great (and yes it works fine upside down). Water is warming up so we hope to do some boarding and skiing this coming weekend.

Nice work BK......Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. THAT'S relativity. Albert Einstein

Don't know the mrg off the top of my head. I'll get the name the next time I'm at the lake. Just went to my dealer and told them the overheat issue. He handed me the strainer along with a quick lesson on how to clear out the trans cooler. I gave him my credit card and asked why strainers weren't standard equipment on an $60k boat. Didn't get a good answer on that one.

I had the same thing occur a few weeks ago and was wondering the same thing. When talking to the guys at ski dock, it sounds like they have not had a big problem with clogs until this year but have had a big increase in this problem this year. Not sure if it is because of the lack of rainfall this past year has allowed a lot more debris to build up when the rains have finally come. It seems like there is a heck of a lot more crud coming down the lake this year.
I have read where other dealers put them on from the beginning, after this year they might start recommending them at Ski Dock to begin with.
