This is great but it is not the vent line that has the problem. The gas expands and pours out he Gas cap. I have one of these on my boat and it did not help at all. So don't waist the $95.00 the gas cap needs to be relocated possibly or just don't completely fill up your boat with out running it.

The bigger issue I have is on fill up. I can't seem to fill up without a lot of spilling out/over from the gas pump nozzle "backflow". I try to listen and shut off the gas before it tops off. Also I put the pump on the slowest setting, which means a very slow fill up. Also try several positions for the nozzle. My Chevy suburban can take 42 gals fill up at the fastest setting and I get no backsplash/overflow. I can't figure.

MRMoffat1, on my 24ve I put the nozzle in and push up on the handle its tiresome but you can go full throttle and the only time it spits is when its almost full but you can here that comming.

Wasn't my idea I was just trying to find out what randy509 was referring to

Here is a link to a thread about filling up. The problem it about the design of boats, not Tiges. Because boats have a separate vent (does not vent to the fill neck like a car) there is less back pressure in the filler neck, which is what is needed to kick the nozzle off. With the lack of back pressure, the tank will fill completely up the filler neck and spill before the nozzle shuts off.

The best thing to do is estimate how much the tank will take and stop fueling when you get close or begin to here the fuel gurgle in the neck. I also read somewhere that it is not recommended to fill past 90% to allow for expansion.

Might be a stupid question, but what about covering the vent to create the back pressure in the filler neck? Or would it create too much and keep shutting the pump off?
