    Boat Financing

We are closing on our boat a week from today and the dealer has quoted the rate at 8.25%. I was wondering if anyone had financed their boat purchases through another avenue besides their dealer at a lower rate then that?

Thanks in advance for the help...

I financed through my credit union for around 6.35% two months ago. They advertise that membership is open to anyone, not sure about out of state though.

Wish I could help but I did it thru my local shop... You should do this thru your local credit union.....

          Rates have gone up.

          Our 06 22V is at 6.5% for a 15 year loan.

Go through a Credit Union if you can, otherwise go with a big national bank. I bank with USBank out here in Colorado. They lowered the rate on my last boat a full percentage point, because I opened a credit card up at the same time. You can usually get an incentivized rate, if you open up a credit card. The bank is assuming that they'll get the interest back from the credit card. You just need to be diligent enough not to use it. Unfortunately, it's America and they usually win. At least the rate will appear low on your boat!

Here is one from a credit union for 6.25%.

I'm not sure about their membership details but they were at our local boat show trying to drum up business.

If you have good credit it should be easy to get 7 or below.

Don't you wish it was like Cars and could get 0% directly from the manuf. or rebates
