Kirk, Now that is what I call fast service!!!! It just goes to show that drinking too many beverages will put you in jail if caught. I say "if" because there are too many times when other boaters get drunk and then drive the boat. Sad but true.

You guys have some great stories.

BTW, I still tube. It's a Towsport, and I do it where I want. Smooth water or choppy water. I follow the "I was here first principle though" I won't tow a tube up in a cove that people are skiing or wakeboarding in, but I don't feel like I should leave if I was there first.

I agree with you on this, Sometime you need smooth water to slide the tube safely.

I tried to tube but paid the price the next day. I was WAAAAAYYY to sore and now the only time I tube is when I take my youngest son and put him into the tube. At that time, I jump into the tube but we are going very slow and we don't go flying either.

But, you are young still so you can handle the pain a little better than me.

I know.... But the body isn't the same as it was when I was 31 either.

But, then I'm 40 in June....

That sounds like a Mohave Lake story to me! There are more A-Holes who have 63 miles of river and lake yet have to tube in the cove and make a ton of waves so the boats are all bouncing around. Normally I will have a talk with these type or remind them their wake they are causing can be held liable if any damage occurs to my boat.

wow..... My bad .... I was watching TV on my labtop + my wife was telling me to hurry up......= a wannabe's post

Father's day last year I was on our tube. The wife was driving. I got a little big for my britches, and started taunting her. I usually use the Forest gump method "you cannot sink this ship!" or the NCAA tourney Method "Boring, Boring"

She hurt me bad. Let's see if I can remember the injury report.

                  Wrenched back
                  Lump on head
Horrible rug burn type thing on my upper lip
                  Strained knee
My elbow hit my rib so hard it knocked the wind out of me, and I could hardly breath for a couple days (because of the bruising)
                  Neck was wrenched
                  Skinned knees
                  "Stretched tendons in my forearms"

It was fun though. We take tubing very serious around here. 2 summers ago I launched a good friend at least 15' high off a cruiser wake. He was at the apex of a "crack the whip" when he hit it.

He returned the favor by going around 35 mph into a "circle of death". I tumbled across the water for about 65 yrds they say. I don't remember, I was trying to keep all my appendages connected at the time.

So the moral of this story is to NOT taunt the wife when you are going to be the tuber and she is going to be the driver. Only bad things can come from that....

However, you rock dude... I only throw the older children like that now. For some reason, they like it??????

About 15 years ago we attended a company gathering at the lake. One of the attendees brought out his 22' Eliminator 460 w/ jetavator and proceeded to tow and whip everyone around on tubes. So i'm on the thing and he does a loop-around a small cove at about 30, me and the tube go airborne 10-15 feet in the air until the damn tube flipped upsides down and i rolled/tumbled/flipped across the water forever it seemed. Darn near knocked me out and tore my rotater cuff...ouch! Nobody tows me around now unless i know for sure they know what they're doing! BTW at 50 i still enjoy a spirited tube ride although i will admit i pay a bit for the next day!

i like tubing, but gotta have a good driver. People dont realize at 15 on the boat it's almost 50 on the tube in a turn
