it takes a lot to piss me off on the water, but I guess the number one is just when someone invades my space. Whether it be on the water, or messed up my water, or throws beer cans at my boat or what. I just don't like rude people I guess. We are all there to have fun, so lets just all get along and do it! What do you think about the boaters that wait for their rigs and hover around the dock waiting for pickups?????

Well, at one specific location, we get some boaters that think they need to hover 15 feet from the dock... Kind of disturbing when you need to drop off......

um that is what got a beer can thrown at me!

We were coming in trying to out run a storm, and so was everyone else. All the jet boats were hovering over the ramp, due to the huge swells. Well I was getting trapped in, and got pissed(alchol consumption had nothing to do with it ) and I was out of the no wake zone so I punched it. Well when I took off this jet boat thought I was coming right at him, I had a lot of weight in the boat, so my wake was huge, not too mention I hadn't hit plane yet, so needless to say I damn near swamped him. His red neck friend kept trying to play chicken with me so I just kept going around and around, just tearing the water up. Granted now I was in the deep water and his boat was just taking on water. I had some easily 6 foot swells created from doing figure 8's He threw a beer, full and it hit my boat. We called in the lake patrol, and then went and got the rangers. Luck had it we had to pull up and load my boat with theirs right beside his. It took 6 guys to put their boat on the trailer, and I just drove up and we pulled out

Needless to say I had three of my BIG friends with me. When we pulled up and out in the lot they pulled beside me. They were true red necks, easily had a 50K boat getting pulled behind a rusted out blazer! When my girls stepped off the boat, the kids they had with them just dropped their jaw, it was freaking priceless!!! needless to say they came up and started talking )*&(*& and the ranger came and broke it up.

I ended up saying I was sorry, and eating crow just so I could leave. but right in front of the ranger I told this Red neck if he ever throws a beer can at me again I'll run him over, and sink his boat!! the ranger just laughed and said have a good day! the guy said he would pay for the damage to my fiber glass. I just laughed at him and said what damage? He said the dent I put in it, cuz I know if you had thrown one at me it would have dented. I just laughed and said no this boat!! (there wasn't a scratch on my boat )

Or the people that pull their boat out and stop on the ramp to wipe down so no one can pick up.... and get PO when you ask them to move!!!

Since I don't have ramp stories (boat is in a dock), biggest thing that gets me is someone not paying attention to right of way it tight spots. Idiots just point where they want to go and cut across. Irritating and dangerous.

Leave your feelings at the door

Are we taking about such things as inappropriate driving, unsafe driving, and boating courtesy or are we talking about who has more rights to the lake....cruisers, fisherman, boarders, tubers, etc.

Because statements like this "The people I have issues with are the family runabouts that just go out without knowing anything about boating courtesy and just tear around the good water with tubes all day long" make me wonder. I resemble this remark, I love tubing. Does this make me a dangerous or inconsiderate driver? Is tubing "inappropriate". This makes me feel that because I tube, I'm not a knowledgeable, safe, boater, I'm rude, dangerous?

This is a matter of sharing the lake. We all have a right to use and travel the lake with in the laws. Does a boarder that wants "butter" have any more right to the lake than the guy in the bowrider pulling his kids on a tube? Does he have any more right to come tubing into a cove where some boarders are riding.

I've had towboats come into the cove where I am anchored up relaxing and throw a bunch of waves. Does this mean that they know nothing about boating.......no, does it interrupt my quite afternoon........yes. Am I going to flag them down and hand them a booklet and ask them to leave because I was there first........no. They have as much right to be there as I do. If they are driving in a safe a responsable manor, than I'll just have to deal with it.
