everything above works great. also, if you are just sitting get parallel to the incoming wakes and let them rock the boat instead of coming over the front.

Thank you everyone for the reponses they are very helpful.
Sounds like with some throttle control and paying attention we should be all set. I think the only time it will be an isuue is when we are chilling and listening to some music while anjoying an adult beverage and a big yacht throws a roller our way and we are not able to pick up the throttle to go over it.

May I ask one really dumb question and I already know I will be harassed for this one

Does taking water over the bow hurt the boat in any way. I know it will run down and the bilge will pump it out and it's a boat so it's made to get wet and evrything will dry. I'm just wondering if taking a large wave that you were unable to avoid would damage the boat or the bow speakers? Go easy on me I'm a newbie

This is how you spot Wallys. They will do these big long turns at speed when turning around to pick up a rider. This sends rollers down the entire lenght of the area everyone is tring to ride. It's probably the single most common rude act of Joe Jackass Boater. Anybody who knows anything about pulling a skier/boarder/surfer will cut the throttle as soon as the rider is down. Just cut the throttle, crank the wheel and wait for the rollers to pass and idle back to the rider. Keeps the water smooth, keeps the water out of the bow, saves fuel, doesn't freak out newbies. The only time you should power turn is to protect a downed rider in a high traffic area and only if that traffic is looking like it is going to run over your rider. You shouldn't ride in those conditions anyways, but I know how it is.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

hahah its funny you ask that. a buddy did it pretty much everytime i rode and thanks to him doing that and leaning back in the driver's seat the whole friggin' seat fell over at the mount. turned it, remounted it, and lost the moron and haven't had a problem with it ever again. its not really an issue because it just drains to the bottom and the bilge gets rid of it. however your storage stuff will get wet as well as all cell phones in front run a high risk of getting ruined.

It ain't gonna kill you or sink your boat. It will however freak out anybody who is up there. If you got a bunch of noisy bitches up there, it will usually shut them up. For a second.

It also works for mother In-laws.

I have to comment on this because the water just puddles up and doesn't leave the storage area underneath. No holes are available but I could drill one if I felt. But my luck would be drilling thru the hull..

Thanks you guys.....all of your reponses have been a huge help. This site has been extremely valuable as my wife and I have gone through our decision and purchasing process. We are really looking forward to a great summer with our new boat. Yeah plowing isn't going to happen too often while under way, with the exception of turning into your own wake.

I boat at the lake of the ozarks couple times a year. I dont know how many of you have ever been there. But its a very very busy lake with tons of enourmous boats, which means big wakes. So far while boating on the main channel we have yet to take a wave over the bow while underway, just maybe a little splashing. We usually ride with the taps in the 3-6 range to keep the nose up a little along with precision throttle control this tends to work pretty well.

you may want to have your dealer make accomodations for the water to drain properly into the bilge. Also you may want to consider him putting a drain in the floor towards to back so that water will drain into the bilge from either plowing or you washing the interior.
