    gelcoat repair

I've got about four little knicks in my gelcoat about the size of your fingernail and looking to repair these. These aren't all the way to the glass. Some have said leave them... but I can't do that... to anal. I'm thinking I can do this myself as it sounds easy enough. But I've got two different techniques.. and thought I'd see what you all thought.

    1st technique -

Mix up a bit of resin w/ some gelcoat to match. Smooth the mix over the whole w/ a squeegee. Then tape a layer of wax paper on the patch over night. Hopefully the patch will be flat and that's all that need be done... but if raised up sand it smooth. Then polish

    2nd technique -

Mix up some gelcoat w/ hardener. Smooth the mix over the whole w/ a squeegee... allowing a bit of build up. Allow to dry overnight, then come back and sand the area smooth, starting w/ 320 grit and working your way up. Then polish.

I heard a third technique about just using aquatex, but I've heard the white won't match very well.
Being a major OU fan and a staunch conservative.... I am perpetually vexed w/ the conundrum of who to hate more. Obama or the Univ. of Saxet.
