I have a Clarion CMD4 deck. It is part of the factory installed "tower of power" system along with the Kicker components. I'm not seeing an IPOD or MP3 connection. Does anyone know if there is a direct connection on this deck or, if not, any trick to make a connection?

Don't know if that head has a usb or other, but you can always plug up to the Aux input RCA's (this is what I do). I think they may have an Ipod base that plugs up to the CeNET port.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

The main reason we didn't get it is that I do 90% of the driving and leave the tunes to everyone else. All I do is work the volume when i need to. If the Ipod was mounted to the drivers console, I would have somebody standing in my way all day playing with the Ipod.
We use the Aux RCA's and leave the Ipod in the cup holder next to the glovebox. You have a few options, this just works great for us (me).Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

Ditto to chpthril. We used the aux in and let it sit in the cup holder also until we got the new HU. Now we plug in the ipod in the usb that charges the ipod also or plug it into the aux in on the front of the deck. I use the remote at the drivers side to control the volume and thats about it.

I do what Chpthrl does. Has worked well for me. I drilled a slightly larger hole in the bottom of the cupholder next to the glove box, so the wire comes directly up into the cupholder, where the Ipod sits. I have a cable about 4 feet long, so you can then pull it out and even adjust the tunes from the front of the boat.Be excellent to one another.

Here is a thread about using the clarion ipod adapter versus a headphone to rca adapter with the aux input. With the ipod charger/connector I don't like how you have to create the music into playlists since the ipod is taking the place of a six disc cd changer. I have the headphone jack type input and a long cable to go to the headunit and it works great. My two friends with serious systems also got long rca cables and we are going to attempt to link the three boats together to have all the same music while partying this summer...should be LOUD!!!
The adapter by the driver might also be just a female stereo mini that you can just plug a short male to male stereo mini cord into.
