    Building my '07 22Ve

Hey everyone. My name is Greg and I recently joined this Tige forum. I just sold my 1995 Tige 2002 FSLM and am getting ready to order a 2007 Tige 22Ve. I am trying to narrow down the colors/options that I want to order for my Tige but could use some help from some of you that have some more experience with these newer Tige boats.

First question: I was hoping these site would have a gallery but I didn't find one so could some of you post some pics of your boats (preferably newer V/Ve's and RZ's) so I could see some different color schemes? I have been using the "Build my Tige" editor on the Tige website but it is hard to tell what the boat will look like when it is a "real boat".

Second: I know I want to get a ballast system but what are the *main advantages/disadvantages to both the Tige stock ballast and Rival Ballast Systems? I tried to look at Rival's website but I guess it is down so some input would be great! I have done a lot of reading about both ballasts but am still unsure which would be easier/cheaper/better. (btw, I know easier/cheaper isn't always better)

Third: It seems like a very small percentage of newer Tige's come with the "Champagne" interior package. I kind of like the champagne color scheme but don't know how well it will look with certain colors. (I think I'm leaning towards a red-themed Tige) How many of you have or have seen the Champagne theme and do you like it?

And lastly: Are there any features/options that you absolutely have to have or any features/options that you wouldn't waste your money on?

That's it for now. I am glad I finally found this website after all these years of owning a Tige!

Many of us have more detailed pics on WSR.

BTW, I have a red Tige w/ mushroom interior. I really like it, but would also consider the champagne in my next boat.

Also does anyone know where I could find a price breakdown for the various options for the new Tige's? I have the 2007 Tige brochure that tells what is standard/optional for each model but it would be nice to know the price associated with the options too!

              You need perfect pass.

              You need a heater.

              Red is the bomb!

I have a long thread regarding the do it yourself rival ballast system and I am very pleased with it. I can fill while on the fly, which you cannot do with the Tige system. Because of the way the tanks fit in on the Ve, I would get the Tige system anyway, because the tanks being in the rear allow you to save some storage space. The only retarded thing they have done is then put the batteries in the storage compartment. The port side storage is puny because of the battery box. I would then move my batteries to under the stereo, so that I could have a little extra rear storage. Some might disagree, but I find the front storage areas to be for small things, and the rear for big things and life vests. The battery box is stupid.
              Be excellent to one another.

It is SUCH a tough decision to finalize which colors/options/etc I want which is why I really appreciate your guys' help!

Just rereading your post and had some more thoughts

And lastly: Are there any features/options that you absolutely have to have or any features/options that you wouldn't waste your money on?
Some thing we like - bow filler cushion, walk through windscreen, cockpit table, fiberglass swim platform, shark eye nav lights, underwater transom light, Speed set cruise, SS appearance package.

Wish I had - additional pull up cleat, Vision air chair, Ballist

Second: I know I want to get a ballast system but what are the *main advantages/disadvantages to both the Tige stock ballast and Rival Ballast Systems?
Talltigeguy gave you some good pro's/con's on both systems, so the only thing I will add is that Tige options give you a 3 yr warrenty.

When you decide on colors, post the pics from the "build your Tige" on the Tige website.

                      Welcome to the forum.

In my opinion if I were to have some must have items it would be SpeedSet, Bimini and a heater. The other stuff like the bow filler or table is great to have but not must have items.

I have the stock ballast system and agree with what talltigeguy said. I don’t like how the batteries and taps pump is in the rear storage areas. It cuts down on the space and gets in the way. However I do like how the rear tanks are tucked away under the transom. The fill and drain time is quick too. I chose the stock Tige ballast system because with the Rival that would have been an out of pocket expense for me. Also know that Rivals is not an option from the factory the dealer or yourself has to install that.

Here is the Gallery, although not a lot of 07 Tiges are in there. http://tigeowners.com/photos/

Here is a picture of my RZ2, the color is different, probably not for everyone but that was my goal. I did not want a color scheme that everyone has.

That is the dopest color scheme around Matt. Well, except for all white. But what do I know.

I would be getting, first and foremost, ballast. Next would be the Speed Set, bimini, teak platform, no stereo. Oh yeah, Vision Air seat.

Other non-must haves but wants would be Shark Eyes, heater, bow filler, walk through wind screen.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

                          Thanks poo.

In case you havent seen the Vision Air chair. Yes it is sweet. Functional and different than anything out there. Everyone compliments on how sweet this chair is.

Damn you Matt Garcia! I thought I had my color scheme figured out but your RZ2 looks awesome. I can see where you're coming from saying that the color scheme isn't for everyone but I absolutely love it! You have a sweet lookin' RZ2!

What is the difference between the stock flip-up bolster seat and the Vision Air chair? The stock seat has the hole in the back and the Vision Air is mesh right? And the stock seat seems a little shorter in the back.. is this correct?

So far the options that I am FOR SURE getting are:
                            -Tige 900lb ballast
                            -SpeedSet Cruise Control
                            -"E" Series Tower
-Stainless Steel Appearance Pkg and SS Rubrail
                            -EIDB Dual Batteries
                            -Vortec 5.7L 340HP
-Premium Sound (just basic sound and then I will install a killer audio system)

                            Contemplating these options:
                            -Bow filler cushion
                            -Tower-Mount Billet Mirror Bracket
                            -Swivel board rack
                            -VisionAir Mesh Seat
                            -Cockpit Table

                            More questions...

-Where are the stock pull-up cleats located and where are the "additional pull-up cleats" located?
-What is a "Lexan Walkthrough Windscreen"?
-Where is the "Rear Hatch Lock" option located? What does it lock?
If you ain't falling.. you ain't trying hard enough..

The rear hatch. Good option to get. It would be nice when you have to stop at the store, or anywhere for that matter, where you might need to go inside for 10 or 15 minutes and leave the boat unattended..

The tower mount mirror is a good one. I can't imagine having it on the windshield after having it tower mounted. Only wat to go.

the Lexan walkthrough screen closes off the walkway under the windshield. Nice to have on those cold days and another real good option.
