I about to buy a ballast or sacs for my 21i type r. Does anyone have these already in there i ????? I didn't know what may be the best way to go. How much in the rear vs. the front????? Taps does alright for wakesurfing, but I need a little more. Any Suggestions??????

Are you looking to improve your surf wake only or wakeboarding too? Surf I'd suggest a Fat Sac in the rear locker(port side) and a port side sac(for on the sides of the motor)

For wakeboarding I'd say its 50/50, DD side sacs and a walk way sac towards the bow but becareful with getting too much weight in the bow or the bow riders will be wet and I dont know if your to worried about exceeding the weight limitations of the boat, but I would, for one thing its illegal and two is pretty stupid.

YES !!!!!! You are very much right on the weight issue. I will not exceed the weight limits. I was thinking of something under the back seat, or in the storage areas. At the front I don't know how much to add, because it already sets pretty low. Add a few people and the splash begins. I cary on average about 6 to 8 people. I have had 15 to 2 but surfing gets bad with just two. I didn't know if anyone found a good common denominator?????

Heres what kirk said and they are jerry cans

"I got my lead from a local shooting range. I picked up 6 -5 gallon buckets. I poured the lead shrapnel into 4 gallon plastic jerry cans and placed them under my back seat and in the ski locker. Cheap, easy to work with, safe (NO FUMES)and portable ( they have handles) The biggest expense was the Jerry cans which are $7.00 each at the local sporting goods store. Each can has to weigh at least 150 lbs when full."

Alright here's some one's I dug up, any questions?

          Ok one more

          Not 21i but good info

i think we found the best setup for a 21i recently.

with just two of us (one driver and one rider), here is what we did:

          550# in bow walkway

400# port side of the engine

250-300# (depending on wieght of drivers) on starboard side of engine

          700# gullwing storage

          300# under stadium seat

          total: ~2100#

adjust taps for the shape and speed control (adjusting the taps will help hold your speed if you do not have perfect pass).

yes, it will eat gas like its going out of style.
