do what I'm going to do, run a blower fan picking air up from the bottom of the boat, as it tends to run cooler there due to the contact with the water, have it blow air into the box/compartment then have another fan sucking from the oppisite side pulling air out going directly outside. I'm doing a set up like this and feel it will be really good.
Now I just need to find a thermometer that has a contact and that goes to a 2 inch gauge so I can put it on my dash to monitor it. Seen anything like that Tanner? (Not trying to jack your thread)
Well ... in the new set-up I was planning on sucking the air from the compartment behind the seats on the port wall. I've crawled back there before during the middle of summer running some wires and it was pretty cool. But you make a good point!
As for the guage... the closest I could find is 2 1/8" ... just run the probe to your amps

Bottom of the boat? My first thought was watch out for fuel vapor if this space is connected in some way to the engine compartment.

sp,
I think I may do that since my intake is on the side with the amps. Should be ok, shouldn't starve the engine should? I mean I have two intakes, that should be fine.
Tanner,
Thanks for the gauges, I'll use those those look sweet!Originally posted by G-MONEYIt hurts me to say it but go OU but only for this weekend!!!!

Dom,
What I was considering doing, and you may consider this as well... instead of eliminating the intake to your engine.... just splice it w/ your amp rack as a stop along it's path. Just have your intake going into the intake on your amp rack, then splice the exhaust port of your amp rack back beneath the boat.Being a major OU fan and a staunch conservative.... I'm considering putting my intake fans underneath the console. Its usually pretty cool under there. That said, I think I have an intake hose in the compartment where the amps are going. that might be better than making my water-tight locker non-water tight What about exhaust though? I guess I would need some sort of vent eh?Reality is only an illusion that occurs due to a lack of alcohol.

Dom, refering to the bilge vent.
Underway, I don't think there will be an issue if you split the vent. Your bilge vent fan is going to pull in as much air as it can at all times. It is usually a single 3" hose out, so in theory, as long as you can replace the removed air with an equal amount of incoming air, there will be no decrease in air flow into the bilge area. Your incoming vents will have one full 3", and the other that will pull any additional air required. You could always try it, then undo it if you noticed anything funny. I would think the amount of flow underway would be split just fine between the bilge and amp ducts.http://www.wakeboatworld.com
