When we bought our boat it did not have a trailer, and we got a new Dual Axle Prestige for about $3,000

What I don't get is why wouldn't you get a trailer with you boat.

If you lived on a lake where you would never need to take it out for service, gas, storage, weather, whatever.

But what if you did, moved, storm, needed to go to a shop, wanted it to go with you on vacation. Things like that.

Bought what from Tigé? They sell boats not trailers.

If you lived on a lake most of that would be accessible from the water.

                          You'd be screwed.

But, there are a lot of people that would sacrifice taking their boat on a vacation for a $4,000 hunk of metal that takes up space.

Agreed. We didn't have a trailer for the first year. Our dealer would loan us one if we needed to pull the boat anywhere.

                            Wannabe.

Tige doesn't sell the trailers at all, there are several trailer manufactures that the dealers use. Typically the dealers have their favorite, or have one that is close. Common trailer companies are Prestige, Extreme, and Boat mate.

3-4 grand is probably the average for around here, options can add up quickly though.

What amazes me about a trailer is that my 2000 Nissan Maxima sold for $9,000. That car had an ENGINE, windows, automatic headlights, airbags, antilock brakes, independent suspension, etc. My two year old trailer was appraised at $4,500 and it has two solid axles and disc brakes.
