    Blinking Trailer LED's

    Hi

I have a problem with blinking trailer LED's when the trailer is hitched to my Range Rover. Range Rover advise me they are aware of the problem but they do not have a solution. The car is UK spec with Range Rover fitted towing electrics.

When the trailer is hitched to other (non new Range Rover) vehicles then the problem does not exist.

    Help

    Nick

Uh, wouldn't that be a range rover problem? Not a trailer problem.
I'm on a boat man. I got my flippy floppies....

That would be a Rover prob. take it to the dealer and have them fix it...

You pay $80,000+ for a SUV and they can't even get the towing package right..

He is aware that it is a Range Rover problem. He's just hoping someone here is smarter then Range Rover.

Do they continuously blink or when you apply the brake they blink instead of staying illuminated?

Sounds like the harness is tied into the HMCSL timer relay on the Rover. I would find a quality shop and have them wire in a new trailer harness and then take the bill to your dealer for reimbursement (unless they will do it) and tell them to call you when RR has a fix.

Take the car to RR and have them give you a rental until the problem is fixed. Its their issue and they need to fix it, otherwise they will just "forget" about it. Having someone else fix it and then giving them a bill will turn into a debate.

Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but it really sounds like RR knows its a problem across the board, not just his vehicle.

RR are aware of the problem, but won't fix it in the foreseeable future. All the lights work properly but the signal lights blink all the time.

I'm with you on this one Evil.

First, having an after market trailer plug wired in is not a "fix", it is a temp solution that will allow Njbeecroft to safely tow his boat until there is a viable solution from RR. 2nd, a Service Manager will not put a customer in a long-term rental for this kind of problem with out having a solution from RR at hand. Yes, it is RR's problem, and Yes, they do need to solve it, and they will, no doubt in my mind.

                    (unless they will do it)
As I stated, give the Dealer an oportunity to do the wiring.

LIKE I SAID BEFORE YOU PAY $80,000+ FOR AND RR AND THEY CANT FIGURE OUT HOW TO DO THE WIRING FOR A TOWING PACKAGE

You state that they are not going to fix it in the forseeable future. I'm sure this is frustrating for you. Have they made any offer as to what they are going to do so you can tow?
