    Teak deck modification

Tired of seeing the back of the boat scuffed with board marks? This is what CaptainK3b and I came up with to reduce the damage. It is a 2" wide piece of teak cut to match the radius on the deck screwed on from the bottom. This made a great Saturday project and both pieces were cut from one board that cost about $104. Hope it helps...

Very nice - we originally wanted Teak, but we like the way our fiberglass platform looks. Plus we have a dog, who would have probably scratched the teak up pretty good, getting in and out of the water.

We have a dog also, and the teak is not what concerns me, it the vinyl in the boat, so the dog stays home. I have to redo the teak each year since we are rough on the deck with our boards, but that's just part of fun of owning a Tige. The figerglass deak is a nice option though, but I don't think the teak strip would match very well.

Ya, no teak strip with the fiberglass deck - bad match - but looks good with a teak platform. I don't think the vinyl should be a big issue with the dog, just have to keep the nails trimmed (we'll see, just got the dog and the boat last fall). We have a bunch of boating friends with dogs as well and no noticeable wear on their vinyl from the dogs. We'll just have to teach the dog to use the walk-thru transom and the carpeted corner seat
