Clarion Remote issues

Last year, the last day of my 1 yr warranty my remotes stopped working... sort of! They function... they light up, the play, pause, etc. all work, EXCEPT there is no display.

My dealer knew about it (except he no longer owns the dealership or works for them) and I'm sure I could get Tige to help. But I think it's covered under clarion's warranty if worst comes to worst. BUT do you guys think it could just be a wire that came loose, or does it sound like they are fried for some reason?

This is my goal this weekend.... to fix this issue. If it can, w/o new remotes.

Sounds internal. LCD screens are usually controlled via a micro or combo of them, and should be on the same power ciruit as the other controls. One of those probably went bad, as they sometimes do, especially if it is on the transom in the sun/water. I would just call Clarion.

WOW... I've never realized how hard it is to actually get to talk to someone at Clarion.

If you call 800 # it is not possible to talk to anyone, and their automated list of authorized repair centers is out of date. Not to mention there's only one in my state. If you call the regular # and choose the customer service option you have to leave a message. Guess it's time to try the HR option...lol.

Why not just replace the remote. They are cheap on ebay.

Well the cheapest I've found my remotes are a little over $100. So lets see... I can have Clarion replace them under warranty... OR I can pay $200. Which would you rather do?

I've seen them for $40 plus shipping which is what you said Clarion might charge you. I hope you can get it replaced for free but it might be better to get new ones then to pay to have them repaired.

I'm confused... where'd you get that Clarion would charge $40. Is that the CMRC1-BSS that you saw for $40 ... b/c please... point me that way I won't put the other remotes on my boat .... just personal preference.

Oooo, I C. So it's a conspiracy and your in on it. First Clarion sent a signal and had both my remotes fry within a a week of each other. Then they won't talk to you on the phone. And now your pulling magic numbers out of the air and making threats about killing me This is some ploy to try and make you want their product more b/c you can't have it... isn't it. Come on... you can tell me.

It's b/c I'm a Sig Ep .... isn't it?

I have clarions #

I have the number to Clarion where you can really talk to someone. I have had my AMP replaced twice in one year. I can give you the number on Friday when I get home. PM me Thursday night to remind me. I talk to someone with in two minutes every time. I won't tell you how I got the number though. I guess it pays to be in the business I am in somtimes SHHHH!!!
