They do not have any more of the teak platforms and have been working with different suppliers and have not had good results. I rather they get a quality product than rush junk to the market.

Ski View was the company that made the platforms and has shut down.

I must be in the OVERWHELMING minority here. I can't stand teak. It looks like an afterthought to me. Not to mention I hate the way it feels.

I placed my order in December and didn't have a problem getting teak. I initially planned to go with glass but the dealer talked me out of it. Old school was the reason. I was also concerned about the maintenance but am glad I went with it in the end.

I hope tige provides a real good specification for type and grade of teak, dimensions, glues, environmental conditions etc that they expect the supplier to comply with. Ski View platforms had their share of issues also.

i'm there with ya. I got sick of taking care of teak on my sailboats and now prefer the fiberglass. Plus since I can not keep my boat indoors I know the teak would weather horribly here in Floriida with the sun and use in saltwater.

Hopefully they will find a new supplier that uses the higher quality teak so we stop seeing all the warping, cracking and delamination on our teak platforms....We already replaced it once and our boat was only 8 months old.......

Personally after having a teak platform I didn't want another. The upkeep was too much work. I keep my boat in very dry hot conditions so it would just suck up the oil and really only looked good in the water. For me fiberglass will be just fine. Knowing how many like teak I am sure they will find a good maker and have them in the near future.

we didnt get teak on our new boat. it was to muck upkeep like coach said and i had to put oil on it just about every other time, and you can see all the scratches made from wakeboards. and we like the look of fiberglass a lot more. looks sharper

I like teak, but it's hard to keep it looking good.

I could do without it no problem, looks out of place to me anyway. I like the fluid look of all glass better. And it's to much hassle, i have better things to do than maintain or worry about a chunk of wood.
