    24ve

I was wondering if anybody with a 22 or 24ve has had problems with the fibreglass cracking on the inside (where the pins go thru) of the fibreglass on the transom activity center hatches?
4-7-09 And still employeed for yet another week (subject to change at any moment)have we hit bottom yet?

I have a 24ve and have never had that happen. I've had a couple hair line cracks show up next to the tower, but they appear to just be isolated to the surface of the gel. Are they big or just hair line?

Its where the pins go thru the fibreglass it is not thick enough to support the weight when people step on the hatches it is really apperant when you remove the hatch

That is probably why Tige changed the hatch hinges for late '06.

I know exactly what you are talking about. It's impossible to avoid stepping on those hatch covers. I'll have to check out my boat, I've never noticed it. You might want to run that by your Tige dealer and have them take a look at it.

They said that they would fix it but I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem if I make it down to my boat this weekend I will take some pictures

As a matter of philosophy, this might be a reason to not buy 'brand new' models. My 2005 hasn't given me a lick of trouble, even though I seem to hear about more problems with the 2003 (the first year they made my style).

As unusual as it sounds, I think that when they get it right, they change it so that you have little issues like this again.

That sort of thing, and the fact that prices are skyrocketing, make me want to hold onto my old boat for a while.

Sorry for taking the thread indirectly off topic.

Tall, your probably correct on your thinking on purchasing the first year of a new boat model, but I have owned many other boats and had problems to but I never paid quite as much for the other boats By the way I want to thank you for your posting on the Rival install I used it when I insatlled mine last season

I have the same issues. on my 2006 22Ve' Apparently, Tige moved to a much thicker hatch and implemented stainless steel flap hinges on the 2007's - saw them at the boat show and it's a much more robust design.

Yeah, boats aren't quite like cars because they just don't make that many of them. Boats like ours are even fewer. And then they have to think about all the ways we'd possibly use them and be one step ahead

                      At least they fixed it.
