About to purchase an 07 22ve... We are pretty serious wakeboarders. Also surf, but have never surfed behind a boat. Currrently have a 2000 21i, the wake is pretty good just soft...How much difference in the wake are we going to notice and is the ballast option necessary in the new 07? Anyone know how much extra the factory installed system is? Thanks

we are currently selling an 03 21i and i felt the same about the wake as you, its good but soft. we bought a 24ve, but we took a demo ride on a 22ve. i was amazed at how big and solid the wake really was with no ballast. it was completly different as far as size, shape and how solid it was compared to the 21i. behind our 03 i only rode a 65 foot rope, and behind the 22ve i rode a 75 foot rope and it was great. it had pop like crazy and it was effortlessto to land out out in the flats. you will be totally pleased with the wake without ballast. it was also way comfortable, i did 2 wake 2 wakes then went right into some inverts and spins. we didnt surf behind it but we did make a surf wake and it was beutifull, real big and had a perfect curl at the back. you'll be happy with no ballastLast edited by laketime; 03-11-2007, 10:22 PM.

If I were you, I would pay to the have the plumb for the ballast, but not install the tanks. That way if you ever want to, you can just add the bags. My dealer has ordered a couple different boats like thatBeing a major OU fan and a staunch conservative.... I am perpetually vexed w/ the conundrum of who to hate more. Obama or the Univ. of Saxet.

I had an '01 21i and thought the wake was ok. After 2 years we added a couple of bags and enjoyed the wake more. Then I got an '04 22V and the wake is even better. Without extra weight the wake is great for most riders. But I also got a Rival system with about 1100# and another 300+ in lead. Now the wake is even better. Maybe the extra weight isn't needed, but for some of the kids that I pull, more is always better. When you say that you are "serious wakeboarders", it makes me wonder if you won't eventually want a bigger wake. The only way to be sure is go for a test ride and see for yourself.

Get the bags.... size matters....Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. THAT'S relativity. Albert Einstein

The dealer ordered our boat for last year's show and did not order ballast. I was imprest with the wake as is was and did not have it install. I am now looking into adding ballast so we can go bigger. The board wake is great and surf wake is perfect for the smaller riders. (me and my mini-keg need a little weight to get a surfable wake).
If i were to order a boat today, I would go ahead and order the factory ballast for the simple fact is that you get a 3yr warrenty with it.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More
