...while installing the new sound system i relocated the battery along with adding a second bat. In the bow, dark hole with a bit of light to see by i somehow reversed the poles on the cables after re-routing and poof! Fried the freaking altenator! I caught the mistake the second i did it but it was to late. Re-connected correctly but yup, more smoke pouring outta the alt. Of course the wife says "if you wanted a new one all you had to do was say so, you didn't have to cook that one" I just hope nothing else is cooked as well.

Your other electronics are probably good. Most everything else requires a circuit to be closed so there was no current going through any of it.

Well as the wife said as i was expelling multiple phases i cannot type here, "no big deal, sh!t happens", why does it always happen to me though? At least the battery is ok it seems.

Nope, I connect the starting battery backwards, had nothing to do with the sound system.

So i ordered a 105 amp alt from DB Electrical for $79.95. That'll keep the batteries charged for sure Of course i had to upgrade the battery iso i just bought as well, it never ends At least i can return it i guess.

I have a circuit breaker between my batteries to prevent a direct short or miswire.

Good price on the alt. Will that fit any motor?

Your charing and starting system shouldn't be protected anyway.

DB will have alts to fit any motor, but that one is probably a universal GM, one wire. Has a 2 1/2 ???? mounting ear and the support arm tang on the other side.
