Bro, I feel for you - that can't suck enough. I was dealing w/some of the same conflicts that you were yesterday - I was at our local ski resort, using my last pass of the season. I snowboard mainly to keep my wakeboarding skillset together over the winter months. I try not to get too crazy on the snow - I'm much more willing to crash in the water.
I had intentionally avoided the terrain park all season out of concern for injury. But yesterday I was just drawn to it and had to hit a slider before I left (I'm headed to Orlando Water Center to ride the cable in April, and justified the snow terrain slider as a sort of primer for the rails at OWC). I crashed pretty hard on my first go round, and I couldn't leave on that note. I went back through and had it dialed from then on (the sliders actually are a blast... and they're addicting). Every time through I was saying 'this is stupid, this is stupid'...
Anyhow, I made it out w/just a few bruises, and you put into perspective how badly it could have ended. Solid of you to post this.
As mentioned in a previous post, time to work on your surfing game! I'm sure that this, and your sweet Tige will help you pass the time until you've got a handle in your hands again. Best of luck for a quick and full recovery.
yah ive never surfed before, ive always been the kinda kid that when im out i just whant to board all day and thats it, so this will definatly open me up to surfing. so now we just need to buy a surf board. any suggestions on a good all around board.. but i'll agree with T*. snow sliders are way fun, i wish that was all i was doing saturday.
Here's a picture of my son surfing. His broken arm had actually healed (right arm), but he was still on intravenous anti-biotics for one of those super-bug staph strains (left arm). I actually found out about it from another Tige owner who I just happened to park next to. His daughter had a broken arm. The thing is gold! This was the first week in August and we went out a couple of times before he had to go back to school. It was a pretty sucky summer until that day and you should have seen the smile on his face. He must have told me a thousand times how much fun he had that day.
thats awesome. how much did it cost... i know that happy fealing he had getting out after that long. the first time i wakeboarded after my leg healed was awesome. i couldnt jump or anything, but just being out was the happeist i had been all summer
I had one of those waterproof ones. Wasn't bad but it still stunk.
You need the fibreglass ( water proof cast ) and the gortex waterproof lining to swim they are great no odour at all. If you just use the cast which is the cheaper option the lining under neath gets soaked and stinks.
if i just ask my doc for a water proof cast should he hook me up or do i have to go elswhere
I am Doc in Australia so am and not sure, not all clinic stock it here. However it is made in USA so you should have no problems at any sports med clinics over there.
