But how far it will go from there... no clue. This just came up in our convo, about how they became a Tige dealer.

I think he said currently they are testing one in a 21i as a jumping off point.

I sure hope this stuff wasn't supposed to be hush hush, b/c if it is, andrew let me know and I'll delete the post.
He spoke with A tige dealer.

???? ***scratches head*** who's? Not mine. Well YET! Although they are the new Tige dealer in the state, I haven't bought anything from them yet. Although I'll probably be buying a new 24Ve in July, as they are only an hour away, as opposed to being 3.5 hours away.

                  Speaking of diesels....

Anyone here heard the new 08' Ford Superduty's? Pretty dang quiet! My father showed up at one of my jobsites yesterday in a new one. I was pretty impressed. Diesel's finally taking over here in the U.S. boys and girls. Heck you even see it in little econ. cars now. Of course by the time we get caught up, europe will be on to something else.

Diesel is going to be the next big thing

Guy's I work in the automotive industry where I have to keep certain things confidential. But I can tell you Diesel is the next big thing coming from Ford, GM, and many other manufactures on the small cars. They are super quiet and in many cases you can not even here them run. It is amazing. Be ready in the next five years for some major changes.

My dad runs a GM dealership and i study the economy and keep a close eye on GM and Ford and unless you work in the R&D department of either of these two companies i think your dead wrong.

I don't know, I just read a report on the Geneva auto show that just ended and they had a lot to say about the new diesels that are coming out that give hybrids and alternative fuels a run for their money. I think for the big American three to keep up with brands like VW, Honda, Toyota, BMW, and Mercedes as far as alternatives to gas, they will resort to some pretty neat powerplants that run on diesel and other fuels.

Let me just say that is a pretty bold the way you said it. And if the big three don't bring it to the table the European and Asian car manufactures are going to run them over with the new diesel power plants they have that are already coming to market. So unless the big three get with it, it sounds like your daddy may be out of a job. and I can assure the dealer do not know everything going on in R&D until it is time for releases. As I mentioned there are certain things I can not talk about and won't....

Some how i doubt my "daddy" will be out of a job. Everyone is blown away by Toyota and how good their mgp is, every one needs to pull their head out and see that Toyota has reached its tops. I don't like the term "the big three" because chrysler has been a slide for what seems like for ever, ford is better off than chrysler and GM's pieces are falling into place. Why would any of these companies stray far from the goverments plan to expand ethonal. i'm not saying that there will be no expansion in diesel, but why not take some of the help that the government is trying to hand out. And what happens to all the R&D money that went into hydrogen technology? Do you think they'll say " oh screw that, lets do diesel." so if your going to bet that diesel will take over for the next 15-20 years i say good luck to that bet.

By the way anhaney what kind of car do you drive?
