The new diesels don't require nearly as much warm up. Heck, my bro has an 05 f350 and it started at -37 F Mine after I replaced the glow plug relay will start at 8 F Least that's as low as I have tried it so far with out being plugged in.

stupid fords(no affence, have had many probs with them)

got 165K on my f250 7.3, no problems, even accidently ran it out of diesel and still rock solid and 18mpg. I'll take a diesel truck anyday, and it will pull my boat at any speed I want up any incline. And now in CA since I have to go 55, i get 22mpg Top that with any of your gas jobs!!!

since when did we start complaining about people? this is a public forum, and we are all here for the same reason, to have a good time, spread our knowledge wealth, and to talk up TIGE. There should be no more of this slamming of other people cuz of how they type, spell or what ever? WHO CARES!! just cuz someone is a teenager what's it matter? We have all been there, and we all know how hard this can be. Just have fun, enjoy yourself and spread the knowledge!!

Out here, our boats run on Cold Fusion - and no, it doesn't have anything to do with beer.

I don't know if this has been discussed on this thread yet, as I'm to lazy to read through all 6 pages. But I spoke with a dealer today, who just happened to have produced a Diesel motor (they were former Mercruiser engineers or something like that) ... anyways, Tige has apparently been in touch with them about this. But how far it will go from there... no clue. This just came up in our convo, about how they became a Tige dealer.

I think he said currently they are testing one in a 21i as a jumping off point.

I sure hope this stuff wasn't supposed to be hush hush, b/c if it is, andrew let me know and I'll delete the post.

                        Dom,

First off I'm not complaining just trying to help the young man out.

Second, you need to take a chill pill dude because I'm not slammin anyone here.

Third, instead of a chill pill maybe lay off the beer because It's making you insane in the membrane.

regarding the 21i with some sort of dealer-derived diesel: I'd seriously doubt that Tige would rely on a new/startup company for a diesel powerplant. At least I hope not, even if they are former mercruiser employees.

I would think (and hope) that they'd go directly to CMD marine (thats cummins mercruiser diesel), since they already have the product and service network in-place. Plus, they'd be able to leverage both the Cummins and Mercruiser quality names. I dont know about you, but a new 22vé or RZ2 with a cummins logo on the side gets my blood pumpin'!

I'd rather have a Yanmar. Just my preference.

yeah... but do take a look at this:
                              http://marine.cummins.com/attachment.../BC%209118.pdf

Turbocharged 4.2L V-6 CMD Cummins- rated 320hp at 3900 RPM, 647 ft-lbs @ 2800 RPM... with 542 ft-lbs coming in at 1800RPM. Even with a seriously steep prop, that much torque would easily pull anything you throw at it, without breaking a sweat.

Perhaps Actually these guys aren't a new/start-up company at all. They've been around for years producing Marine diesels. Apparently their diesels are in boats allover the world and a few boats that you know here. The only thing that's new is their Tige Dealership.
