Another thing you can use to protect the Gel Coat is go to any automotive store and pick up a couple of those sheepskin seatbelt thingies and slip your strap though them and either sew them in place or just let the pressure of the tie down hold them in place. This worked well for me last year until I left them on while the boat was in the side yard and dog mistook them for some sort of small creature and destroyed them. I will be replacing them this year.A man can only be beaten 2 ways - give up or die!

Where can I download the full size pic of your avatar? That is great.
I still think that the scuffing of the gelcoat by the tie down has not been proven. Anyone going to take me up on my first challenge to show me a pic of someone who has some scuffing? I have used mine every time for 2 + years without any scuffing. I have a white transom so it might take time to show, but so far, looks as good as new.Be excellent to one another.
