I stumbled across one on eBay at .79cf, well made of 3/4" mdf, sealed, terminals and carpeted which i won the bid for $28 total including shipping! I couldn't have made it for 3X that and the .04cf difference will have no effect.
I was going to say the same thing....but I'm not a hall moniter! J/K Razzman

Isn't bigger better (with in reason) for boxes?

I'm no expert on that by all means but as i understand there's an optimal size for the sub to work to it's full potential. Of course that's all based on the sub type, box type and other conditions. Rockford states that for a sealed enclosure my sub can be in a box in the range of .375-1.75cf but that .75cf is recommended so the sub can perform to it's best with the full freq range it was designed for. Makes sense to me but what do i know?

I'd buy one on ebay, if it worked for me!

my 10" Kicker says it needs 1.0-2.4 cu feet. Right now I'm sitting at about 1.3.

I hadn't planned to seal the wood on the inside, but certainly on the outside. If its sealed on the outside (with say fiberglass resin), and the plugs are sealed, and the speaker itself is sealed, why would you need to seal the inside of the box?

If I could find one with the right volume, the right size and shape, I would

I would seal the inside just to help it sound better, and avoid moisture from the inside.

I'm the same way if someone had one that fit my needs I would. I probably could have found one for my ls7, but too late almost done with it now.

Maybe I should look for some mdf again. I found some, but the sheets were only 12" wide. Then again, maybe if I made it (inside) 12x12x18 I could make it work.

Its this one, except with a 300W peak, not 600. I can't find the link to mine right now.

You already made the box..I wouldn't remake it, unless you really wanted to.

That 3/4 is pretty stiff stuff, so you're fine with it. You would really need to seal the MDF too, inside and out. That stuff is a sponge.

I would seal the box on the inside too, just for worry free thoughts.

I'm not familiar with Minnie, but Lowe's, Home Depot, Menard's should all carry 4x8 sheets of MDF for ~ $25.
