Ok thanks. I thought thats what you meant. Do you know how much of the useable space the factory rear factory ballast tanks actually take up in those rear compartments? I'm concerned about losing the storge space if I get those installed.

All 3 are very good boats, if you are going to ski a lot I would not go with the 2007 X2 MC
It is a very good wakeboard / surfing boat a good family Boat…….. but ski????????
The VTX id a better ski / wakeboard boat with the V hull but the wake for wakeboarding
Is not a big as the X2
I will not tell you about the Tige’ there are experts on here that can do that better job than I can …
I will say…… just because as you say “obvious savings in price” don’t be fooled by price……..
IMO Tige’ has come up with the so-called Big Boys with fit and finished in the last 2/3 years
So if you are thinking you are giving up some quality because of price……. think again
IMO Tige’ is equal/ better in some areas when you look at all 3 boats IMO…………………………

        Maximus-
Good call coming on the makers web site. Check out Mastercraft Team Talk and Bu's themailbucrew. I went on each before I purchased this last year and got the good and bad about each (mostly good). No matter which way you go they are all good boats and good makers. I can't tell you crap about which on skis well or not. I know that Tige without ballast and a slightly lower price was a part of my decision in buy a Tige this year. I will all come down to your needs, but I would say go out and demo each of them. I did this last summer and it answered more questions then any message board when I was done. Good luck in your search, I love boat buying and seeing what is out there. I just won't be doing it for another 10 years.

Maximus2003 I was at the factory watching them install the ballast. They have moved them to areas that take up a lot less space than what I have in my 2005. I just wish I would have waited one year to buy my boat. TIGE really takes care of there customers as long as you are honest and reasonable with them. I love my boat the way it rides, I never worry about rough water. This boat cuts right through it. They have also changed the tower design since I bought mine and it is a lot stronger. I know it is great for my family. My wife just learned to wake board at the end of last year and she has already set up several week long trips for us over the summer to several lakes. I sloam ski, the kids board and tube, the wife surfs and boards. It is great for all of us.

That's why I choose the factory balast...for the warranty. I also looked at the Malibu LSV and found it too expensive and too shallow. The Tige' is definetly better for larger lakes and rougher water. We also just really liked the styling of the new 22ve vs the Malibu.

Because Tigés are deeper there is a lesser chance of falling out.
Most tigés are heavier, bigger and sturdier boats that perform great in rough water. (a selling point for me because of our annual trip to the ozarks) Just my .02 cents.

This is why Coach went with Tige’ “great in rough water”
IMO I think it is the other boats have miss the boat…..lol

Most of the lakes we ride on here in BC are large, so the fact that tiges are great on the open rough water was a big selling point for me. In terms of ballast for the 20V, what do you guys recommend? Is it better to go with the factory installed or to go with after market gear? I've been on a boat when a fat sack was punctured and really don't wanna go down that road with my own boat.
Go with the factory ballast then add a little bit more weight in the bow, either dead weight or water weight.

Domsz We will have you covered

We will have you covered by this summer. Once the time change takes effect and it starts to get light early in the mornings we will be going before work and after work during the week days. I will intorduce you to the morning and night groups. One of the guys has a BU and needs to get his window replaced. So until then he is riding with us. Hang in there for one more month then when it starts to warm up hold on cause the wives can start to get in the water and when that happens we spend a lot of time at the lake and most important they can lay out and get there TANs. So they love to go to the lake.
