    Just Scored some Ballast

I just picked up 2 -350 lbs fat sacks and a 1000 g pump for $125. They guy only used them a few times (he is a hardcore skier) and just wanted to get rid of them. Now I will have to see what type of surf wake I can make with the extra 700 lbs. I should be able to have over 1000 pounds to which ever side we want to surf.

I will have to play with placement when boarding. My intial thought are 1 sack in the bow on the floor and put one just infront of the rear bench on the floor in the middle of the boat.

    Coach,
I am definitley no expert on ballast, but most of the guys who weight their boat for surfing tend to put it more the back. Surfdad only has 75 pounds up front and around 1300lbs in the back. You have already got that nice load of batteries up front. I think I would try both bags in the back to begin with and play around from there. Congratulations on the awesome price.

That is what I plan on doing when surfing. I am going to put one in the locker and one on the seat infront of the locker plus my batteries that will push it to 1000 lbs before people. The front and middle back is for just wakeboarding and trying to create a balanced wake.

I was just checking them out and they are Launchpads by straightline. I need to make a river trip soon now!!

            Coach,

Matt G. has my sacs in his rz2 right now. We are running those 350's in each back locker and then we have a 500-600 in the nose.
You may want to consider picking up another sac for the nose.

Matt's wake is killer w/that set up and his factory ballast.

Man that is alot of weight. I am going to play with it this year (I might get one more sac for the front. If I find I am using the ballast a lot I will upgrade to a automatic ballast system next season, if not I will just use the sacks.

even if you don't use it a lot you will go to an auto one. Using the sacs and pmps SUCKS!!

That is my gut feeling about it. If I upgrade I will get the hard tanks like Matt has in his RZ2 and put the battery and TAPS hydrobox in a different location.

Bug69 told me about a guy on Mastercrafts web site that was selling them. I have tried for 2 months to hook up with him and buy them, but our schedules never worked out until today. He only used them a few times and they are 2 years old. He is a hardcore skier and wasn't using them that often. Sometimes it pays to spy around on the other sites for deals.

No, just a guy getting rid of some stuff.
