My boat has the "Docking lights" or "Shark eye lights" they don't work. They just shine straight down, not up and out so they are pretty much pointless IMO.

So you are refering to the "white" light that is on the sides of the bow, not the green/red nav lights (on the sides or top)
I have not seen any V hull docking lights that really projected light very far. Most people run around at night thinking they are "headlights" . all they are doing is killing thier night vision and that of any approching boater .

yup, that is why I don't use them, occasionally I'll use them once I'm almost to the trailer, but even then I think they SUCK! Thinking about making them my nav lights and pulling my nav light out.

Docking lights are useless on most inboards because the bow points downward and the way they mount points them down into the water. Atleast thats how i see it.
