So based on the box you drew, I"ll have no problem making one up like that, and I can do the ports as well. Would it be ok to make the ports come out of each end, instead of the bottom? that way at least one is going somewhere? Just wondering. Thought about doing one out the back, and one out the bottom.

Yes, it will be much better to make the ports come out of each end. I would do them out the back, and out the front, near the face where the sub is mounted. You can do the ports down any side you want and at any angle. The important part with a rectangular port is the total interior volume. It is usually best to make an "L" shape with them down a full length/height of the box. Similar to the crossection I drew.
Do you know how to dimensions to tune for square ports?
