How do you keep separation between the cone and the seat?

my cones will face down into the boat=better feel and sound. Hits harder too. I'll raise the whole box by little rubber stoppers, and then for the top seat I'll have it supported by metal rods and on a plywood base. All in the work still. For the seat I'll talk to an seat shop and have them help me. I want to make it where you can lay down and face front, or sit and be an extra observor as well

you got any drawrings or anything?

The woofer box I built is 18x18x18 and the measured hole its supposed to go in is 13x20. I guess I miscalcuated on my memory of that opening.

So I either gotta cut it down by 5" or find a different spot.

I've seen people with the same boat as me with the subs in the kick plate of the driver, so essentially under the helm. Problem there is that the rear of the thing is using that HUGE space in the dry locker (which wouldn't be dry anymore) for resonating. Not sure how that would sound.

                      ok here goes.

I've built a box 18x18x18 for my Kicker 10" woofer.

I was planning to put it in the storage under the port-side windshield. However when I finally got up to see my boat on Saturday, I found out that the opening was 5" too short.

                      So I'm looking for options.

Can't go under the front seats in the bow because there is barely enough room for a life preserver under there.

So there it is. One option I have would be to cut the woofer box down by 5" so it fits.

                      OK, Lets have it.

if you cut it down your going to kill your performance. You can stuff it full of polyfill, but not sure that woud help when your cutting it down that much. Since your making a 18" cube can you make it a rectangle instead? I mean I know the box is done, but you can always change a side on it since it's out. That is what I would do. maybe make it more of a rhombus so you still get the vol you need. Stuffing it with poly will help out and make it think it's in a bigger box, but I don't know, 5" is all of volume you are loosing.

Well, I built it to be the max volume Kicker recommended (2.4 cu feet I think)
so I can lose up to a cu ft and still be in the range that they recommend.

If I were to make it more of a rectangle, I'd basically have to start over....which really isn't that big of a deal.

well 2.4 is HUGE!! I'm not making mine that big and I have a kicker sub, well I don't think I am, would have to measure it. I can't redo mine, it's all in fiber glass If you make it on the smaller range and stuff polyfill you will be fine.

Call kicker technical support, last time I did they were really friendly

405-624-8583 or email them at support at kicker.com

I think I'll cut it down and then hook it up and see how it sounds. At this point I have no polyfil in there and it sounded pretty good.
